Lambert: We Have to Stop the Basic Defensive Errors
at 00:23:13

It hurts seeing this happen to the club but can we not turn on PL already. He is clearly trying desperately to instil a positive vibe throughout the club, but the reality is we are so bereft of championship quality that his task is nigh on impossible. We have to brace ourselves for relegation as we are just not good enough. Even if he is given a Jan warchest, what players of genuine quality will be willing to come here knowing there is every chance they'll be playing league 1 footie next year? Evans should be the target of any derision right now. He doesn't share the values of this club. He values profit over ITFC and that is not likely to ever change.

Legend Beattie's Funeral Today

Rip Beat and best wishes to his family today. Unlikely we will ever have a player of his calibre at the club again. A true town legend.

Hurst: Players Were Like Warriors
at 22:49:08

Oh and I like to have a little look on the opposing teams forums to see their views after. Lots of arrogant comments such as this one.
" It's not that we didn't win against ten men. It's that we didn't dominate and be assertive. They outplayed us with ten rubbish players. Timidity at its' worst. I'm so angry with this performance..."
Would love to stick that on the dressing room wall for the return fixture. Obviously think the championship is beneath them this lot.

Hurst: Players Were Like Warriors
at 22:41:58

Well done town, a great result with 10 men for so long. Did feel like deja vu from last years fixture with the red card and feared the worst, but the spirit and determination to get a result was to be admired.

Blades Not Giving Up on Waghorn Pursuit - Report
at 23:43:38

I like Waghorn and would rather us keep players like him. However, like others have said if it gave hurst the ability to sign 2-3 quality players to bolster a pretty flimsy squad you can see why he would. The guy is not going to get funding from Evans unless he sells so how else will he be able to build a squad of his own design. If he goes and the funds from that and the Webster sale are not reinvested that is obviously very different and would be a disgrace, but i genuinely dont think Hurst would agree to it unless he could reinvest. Evans is the problem and it's been obvious for a long time he is in this venture for financial gain and we will operate on a shoestring for as long as he is at the helm. However, unlike Mick who delighted in telling us how well he worked with no funds (but then used it as excuse for garbage football and results), Hurst has his reputation on the line as a bright up and coming manager and i really hope this makes him more likely to stand up to Evans over key issues like transfers.

Hurst Tight-Lipped on Future After Play-Off Defeat
at 01:02:48

Before the game it seemed many were worried Hurst wouldn't want to come if Shrewsbury won and got promoted.
Now the kneejerk negativity rears it's head because Shrewsbury underperformed and lost, with people saying Hurst is not up to it. How can we dismiss all of his previous work on one game? For all we know nerves may have played a big part with their players.
The best team won but Shrewsbury were never expected to even reach the playoffs yet alone come close to automatic so he has worked wonders with them. He may or may not be the answer for town, none of us can know for sure, but if he is chosen let's get fully behind the appointment and give him our full backing. We are not in a position to take our pick of any manager, and there is a always going to be a risk whoever comes in but it's a risk we needed to take as McCarthy had to go. The feel good factor can return this year and us fans can play a big part in that. The support and understanding shown to Klug and co in the final games was outstanding, so lets continue that into the new season under the new management team.

McCarthy Bitterly Disappointed But Pleased With Performance
at 23:11:29

McCarthy is just not fit to be an Ipswich Town manager. He doesn't care for our history, has completely destroyed our proud reputation as a team that likes to play good football, and has nothing but contempt for the people that support the club. He is a belligerent, egotistical man whose old school methods are so engrained in him he will never change. He served a purpose by keeping us up in his first season and was rewarded handsomely for it by all accounts, receiving adulation from the fans at the time too and deservedly so. He has done as much as he is capable of now and it feels like he is now running down his contract with eyes firmly on his bank balance. Our faceless owner will allow this to happen to save paying him off as he continues to keep the club ticking over on the cheap in the vain hope he will someday pocket some of the premier league riches. It is so damaging to the morale of the club when the owner is so disconnected to the fans and doesnt seem to share the passion and desire to succeed that they do, treating it instead like any other business. When Marcus took over this club most felt we were finally going to have the financial backing we had been crying out for to push this club on to greater things. What we have instead been treated to is one of the most sterile and uninspiring periods in the clubs recent history, and it doesn't look like that is about to change anytime soon. They are destroying everything I grew up to love about this club, and the worst thing is they just don't even appear to care. We deserve and should demand so much more.

I Hate Playing Ipswich, the Risk of Defeat Hurts Like Mad - Notes for Norwich

Wow I anticipated a few hateful comments but they excelled themselves this time. Some of them were quite disturbing really. The guy who won't let his Wife (Sister) wear anything blue needs help, what a moron. 😂

Town Topic: The Greatest Town Hat-Tricks

PJH thanks for some reason I was convinced Marshall got all 3! I guess it was almost 20 years ago and I was only 15! Amazing result though, you can't beat those moments!

Maybe not the greatest in terms of quality, but remember us being 3-0 down at Barnsley when Ian Marshall smashed in 3 goals in the last 5 minutes to grab an unlikely 3-3 draw! :)

Ambrose Given Chance to Win New Deal
at 13:23:01

I agree I wouldn't be too disappointed with this. Noel Hunt had a great attitude when he came in and you can see he is desperate to play. You need that to keep the other strikers on their toes. Ambrose still has something to offer I think too as a squad player!

Rotherham 2-0 Town - Match Report
at 23:47:22

It seems like the last few weeks have really knocked confidence in the fans and players. The poor lethargic performances, our lack of ambition for new signings, poor results against some of the worst teams in the division etc etc. The fact is though those players got us to 2nd in the table at Christmas and we don't suddenly become a terrible side. I'm hoping this is a dip and we can recover and find some momentum again. I don't think we are good enough for automatic but a couple of good wins would get the feel good factor back. I'm as frustrated as anyone, it hurts to feel like it's slipping away and feels so much worse today when everyone else won. They can't all keep winning though and there will be dips in form for others too. its only Feb so let's keep behind them, hopefully with a couple of quality loan additions we can get back on track. Stevenage 2-0 Town
at 12:37:33

Don't really think anyone should be comparing the current management to the likes of Keane/Jewell. They are much more shrewd, focussed and organised, and although they will be less than impressed with the start we have made I have every confidence they will do well again this season. Lets not forget so soon the amazing job they did last year to keep us up. The season is 2 games in so let's not be getting all negative about it, we will get better. Agree though that we might still be a bit short on goals, so hopefully they will look to get another 1 or 2 players to assist in that area.

Chopra Linked With Blackpool Move
at 12:23:51

The guy has done nothing to endear himself to town fans. If he had given 100% but it just hadn't worked out on the pitch I think most of us would be willing to accept that and wish him well. But he hasn't and all the other ridicuous goings on with him have left a bitter taste, especially as we will probably be paying off part or all of yet another contract. We'll probably write off his debt to the club cos we're nice like that. The addiction I sympathise with it's the apparent lack of respect for the people who pay his wages that I can't get my head around. This should have been a good move for him, a fresh start and a chance to revive his career. I was excited when he joined cos he's a talented player but he's been a complete let down and i'll be glad when he leaves now.

Keane Confident Town Can Keep Wickham
at 13:30:28

Agree with Dolly_Verbiage, so many on here seem to want success straight away. I would take a lot more pride from seeing us develop young players like CW into future stars like we have done previously rather than buying second rate players just cos they might get us out of this division for a season. Keep faith with Wickham, remember he is only 17 and get behind him and the team.

Swap Deal With Cardiff Unlikely
at 00:14:14

There's talk on the Cardiff forums (although hard to find amongst all the Bellamy b0llocks!) that Hull also want McCormack and are weighing up a swap deal involving Cousin. Surely Stead is better than him plus he's about 33. Hopefully for once we can persuade a decent player to come here for a change!
