Town Release New Kits
Thursday, 23rd May 2019 07:30

Town have unveiled their new home and away kits for the 2019/20 season with the strips available for pre-order from 10am this morning.

The traditionally blue home shirt features a subtle chevron effect on the front, white detailing on a round collar and sleeves, as well as the adidas three stripes.

It also bears a monochrome version of the logo of sponsors Magical Vegas, along with the usual white shorts - with a blue trim rather than this year’s red - with Nicholas Estates again the back of short sponsor, and blue shorts.

The away kit is inspired by the 2015/16 ‘Barcelona’ kit in burgundy with navy stripes on the shirt and yellow trim. Again the Magical Vegas logo is in monochrome.

When previously released Town were only able to use the kit on a couple of occasions due to the blue shorts and socks clashing with opposition sides with predominently Blue kits.

The following season burgundy shorts and socks were introduced and it was used as a third kit with less of a problem.

The goalkeeper kits are in camouflage-inspired prints. The home kit is grey, while the away is green, both with black trim.

“We’re really pleased with all the kits and training range for 2019/20. They’ve had a great reaction from the manager and players already.” director of retail operations Lee Hyde told the club site.

The kits will again carry the EFL names and numbers as well as the name of the mental health charity Mind, which fans can have added to their shirts if they wish.

Supporters wanting to add a custom name or number to their shirt can do so when pre-ordering.

However, as in previous seasons, no orders for shirts with player names and numbers will be processed until the release of the 2019/20 squad numbers.

The kits can be pre-ordered from 10am this morning via Planet Blue. Anyone pre-ordering prior to 3.00pm on Wednesday 3rd July will be entered into a prize draw to win one of a number of prizes: A 2019/20 season ticket, a visit to a first-team training session at Playford Road with an opportunity to meet the manager and squad or one of 10 home shirts signed by the first team squad.

Pre-ordered kit will arrive with fans up to 48 hours prior to the release for general sale.

Thursday 13th June - Home kit pre-order collection/delivery
Saturday 15th June - Home kit available on general sale
Thursday 4th July - Away kit pre-order collection/delivery
Saturday 6th July - Away Kit available on general sale

Fans wanting to take a look at the new kits can do so from 10am at Planet Blue and in Town's marquee at the Suffolk Show on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th May.

What will the kits have on the front as a sponsor for the children sized kits again does anybody know please? Will it be EACH again or will it be the Air Ambulance logo instead perhaps? No doubt my lad will ask me when he gets back from school later.

The home kit much improved with the change in the logo that doesn't look like it won't fade in the sun anymore. Not sure about the goalkeeper shirts or the away kit. Looks like Barcelona all over again and it was hardly ever worn because it couldn't be worn against teams that wore blue or red !

Better than last season's but never been a fan of round necks. If it had a white v neck it would be better (IMO). Monochrome MV looks better but still needs to go.
Away looks almost identical to the previous 'Barcelona' inspired shirt. Would have preferred the more traditional red and black stripes.

Just noticed the badge on the away kit. Wish they'd kept the original blue rather than tampering with it. Also, as with previous seasons, play away in blue and only change when we need to.

I've always thought that it harder to mess up a simple blue and white kit, but in recent years we have got it badly wrong on a few occasions This years iteration looks spot on though. Clean and simple, and they've even toned down the MV logo in response to the outcry.

Good job to all concerned.

The away kit however looks as if it was forgotten about in the excitement, and grabbed from the bargain bin on the way out of the door.

I think it is great that they have included members of the ladies team in the photoshoot. Why ignore 50% of the local population? Clever marketing. Personally I don't like the away kit but really like the toned down sponsor's logo.

Not sure the blue and the red/blue offers enough contrast. We need that mad yellow one we had back in the 70's.

Still look a little tight for the average fan at the burger van.

I really like the home kit. The Magical Vegas logo looks so much better without all the bright and brash colours. Can't see why we've gone back to the Barcelona style away kit though. Every single time we should've worn it the last time, we just played in our home kit with different shorts and socks.

stop moaning about the sponsor, we need any money we can get at the minute!! if that is all people have to moan about then they need to get a life.

Love the home kit

Shock horror, gambling logo on a football shirt .....People need to get over the sponsors

I would rather we went without the money than had a gambling sponsor. If the sponsor aided heroin addiction would you still say take the money?

Very good home kit. Solid goalkeepers kits. Hideous away kit.

I agree, the new home shirt actually looks really good and the toned down logo is a massive improvement. Not a huge fan of the away kit or the home Goalkeeper shirt (can't put my finger on why).

On a side note, Phil I keep getting the popup everytime I come onto TWTD and a new page for the Accept or Manage settings, no matter what I do. Anyway to stop it coming up all the time? I have accepted and managed settings to no avail, puts me off the site a bit which is a shame

Nice kit but still personally ashamed that we are associated with a gambling company.
