Swans Linked With Williams
Wednesday, 14th Dec 2016 09:44

Swansea City reportedly could be interested in signing Blues loanee Jonny Williams from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.

According to The Guardian, Williams’s parent club Palace want to add a left-back to their ranks during the window with the loan of Tottenham’s Ben Davies top of their wish list.

However, Swansea’s Neil Taylor is another alternative and that potential deal could include Williams, who was previously linked with the Swans last January and also in the summer of 2014, moving in the opposite direction.

Williams is due to stay with the Blues until the end of the season but Palace are understood to be able to cut the loan short in January.

The 23-year-old Wales international, who has another 18 months left on his Palace contract, has made seven sub appearances during what is his fourth loan spell with the Blues, having spent the first few months of the campaign recovering from an ankle injury he suffered in pre-season with Palace.

I just get this horrible feeling Town will get sicker into a relegation battle. The team is devoid of confidence. The team and the fans are now as far apart as I can remember and we have an owner that appears to all intents and purposes to have lost all interest in the Club, and certainly has no interest in giving the manager any meaningful funds.

Mick is , well Mick. He does what he knows and has minimal capability to go outside of what he knows. That's just the say it is, and he's right he has "done bloody well", ( with hand he's been dealt), this is true, but the crux of all of this, is that is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

If Evans has lost interest, he sell up, NOW.
Mick needs to go, if nothing else a fresh approach may see the teams approach different and a style of football that is more attack minded. ....... the alternative is this continuing downward spiral and frankly League One football .

Can't believe some of these comments today, who in there right mind thinks that Williams a 23 year old attacking skillful play maker is better than Different Class Dougie. Seriously, do you guys know anything about football.

He will surely be welcoming the move, to play premiership football instead of sitting on the bench here. Good luck to him, and more proof that MM hasn't an effing clue.
(Apologies Papa, wasn't meant as a down arrow, case of sausage fingers)

I wish that it was legally safe to write what I think of Mr Evans on this or any other site.

Suffice it to say that I can't believe that he is, as has been suggested, a life long Ipswich Town supporter.
Why ?
Because no true supporter, with his resources, would do nothing about our current position, and make no effort to release funds to secure signings of Premier fringe players of the calibre of Williams.

As for MM not playing Williams ? We won't see any flair 'til we're safe from relegation. If we're free from relegation that is.

The sooner he sells up the better.

Swansea must wonder why the hell we're NOT playing Williams, the rest of the footballing world are wondering why the f**k we ARE playing Douglas.

Not surprised . Joniesta is class and MM refuses to start him so if he's any sense he will move on . Can't understand dinosaur's refusal to play him even though we're in a relegation battle .

As I see it Jonny has two options 1) Sit on his arse and watch a championship relegation fight or 2) Play in a premiership relegation fight, bit of a no brainer me thinks!

Birmingham have sacked their manager. Their statement says that you can't afford to stand still in football. We're not standing still either, we're slipping backwards at an alarming rate!!

Lets send Mick on a one way ticket to Birmingham

Gary Rowett please, bright, up and coming manger. Just what we need, fresh ideas, clear out the deadwood on the pitch and all the ex players cluttering up the training ground. Someone with no previous ties to this sinking club of ours that won't be afraid to make the right decisions and relieve the MM favourites of their duties.

After Saturday's performance I finally gave away our season tickets (no one wanted to BUY them!) and will not buy another one until MM departs. I have supported ITFC through good times and bad since 1949 and this is the most depressing football that has ever been played.

I bet he's wondering what the hell he's doing at this club when he can't get on the park in front Douglas and Skuse two players who would not get into a Sunday pub side I feel almost as sorry for him as I do us fans watching this crap every week!!!!.

Surco You've hit the nail on the head yes we did urge patience to get all the injured etc etc players back and when they did come back they were rubbish there lies our problem expectations greater than results.
I suppose looking back the writing was on the wall pre season.

Go for it Jonny & further you're career, you never will with that Tw@t McCarthy as your manager!!!

Pilgrimblue added 17:21 - Dec 14
From Johnny's point of view he'd be better off elsewhere. But MM prefers Skuglas, what a joke. Every time he comes on as sub the team looks better and gives us hope but usually too late. Meanwhile Douglas gets picked every week meaning we're playing with 10 men in effect.

dukey44 added 18:47 - Dec 14
So if mm still here in January why would any player want to come and play for us when they can also see what shi..te our manager is playing every game? And Jonny can't even get past the dross Mick plays?

Re your comment ArnieM about Marcus, he thinks the sun shines out of Micks rear end as he is being paid very well to make us the empires biggest tax loss, the earlier comments re ticket restructuring are a smoke screen to try and placate the fast vanishing supporters who are sick to death with inept displays on the field and off it!!! it's about time this club got it's act together before we are in dv1, I wonder if the arrogant(i've done great for this club I have!??) failure of a manager will turn up on the 21st!!

dukey44 added 19:22 - Dec 14
Then Birmingham sack their manager and ours is still here??

Ferguson- my oldest friend (ITFC supporter since he was 10, living in USA) knows Evans well & assures me he has no interest in football, is & never has been an ITFC supporter & bought the club purely to get promotion quickly and then sell so making a quick buck. Don't believe any of the spin (bullshxt) coming out of PR via the puppet Milne. It's about time we had a poll on here re MM but Phil Ham doesn't seem to have the courage to do this.
Evans has not actually been seen at PR this season on a match day according to another source I have should Mr Ham want I can substantiate privately him. Sick of the sycophantic drivel on here and in the EADT
