McCarthy Makes Three Changes
Saturday, 17th Oct 2015 14:27

Town boss Mick McCarthy makes three changes from the team which lost 2-0 at Blackburn for today’s home game against Huddersfield with left winger Tommy Oar handed his full league debut.

The Australian, who is making his first appearance at Portman Road, comes in for Larsen Touré, who drops to the bench, with Ryan Fraser, who missed the game at Ewood Park with an ankle problem, now sidelined for two months with a knee injury. Ainsley Maitland-Niles switches back to the right.

Jonas Knudsen, who was ill at Blackburn, returns at left-back with Jonny Parr also amongst the subs.

Up front, Brett Pitman comes in for Daryl Murphy alongside Freddie Sears. Otherwise the Blues are unchanged.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Smith, Berra, Skuse, Douglas, Maitland-Niles, Oar, Pitman, Sears. Subs: Bialkowski, Malarczyk, Parr, Bru, Touré, McGoldrick, Murphy.

Huddersfield: Steer, Davidson, Cranie, Hudson (c), Lynch, Huws, Whitehead, Scannell, Bunn, Wells, Miller. Subs: Murphy, Smith, Paterson, Vaughan, Carayol, Dempsey, Billing. Referee: Andy Davies (Hampshire).

Another poor line up from a stubborn manager who won't drop his favourites

getting really frustrated now! NO creativity in the middle of the park, i just don't understand what mick sees in douglas, that bru doesn't have. we look a much better squad with bru on the ball because he is so composed. don't understand why bart isn't inbetween the sticks either.

very stubborn, mick. very stubborn.

What a surprise. Changes only to the areas that don't need changing. Hope we don't pay the price for this ridiculous stubbornness.

What a SHAKE UP that's been! Same old same old. No change. No imagination, of using someone centrally with creativity. Ridiculous...Huddersfield must be quaking.

Why isn't Magic starting? why is Gerken in goal? Why is Chambers playing?

Mick you are a stubborn old sod, I sincerely hope it works today but previous performances suggests not!

Im afraid I'm losing patience now. Scanell who has been poor so far this season, watch him shine against chambers and smith. I despair!!!!

Hardly changes. One (Fraser) is enforced. Otherwise it's the a very familiar looking team

Huddersfield have switched things around a little. Carayol is benched and Bunn moves over to the left wing to offer more protection to Davidson at left-back and go up against Chambers. Nakhi Wells will play off Ishmael Miller up front.

Mark Hudson replaces Elliott Ward in defence and Terriers are assuming that Ward has returned to Bournemouth. Hudson is not as good a ball player as Ward and while offering a physical presence he is seen as a downgrade on the ex-Budgie.

......... unfortunately - we have a Manager who will never utilise his squad to full effect, if you are a favourite, you're in regardless - if not, you've no chance.

Let's just hope Evans eventually see's him for what he really is - stubborn, arrogant - and obviously doesn't really care two hoots about results.

What further proof does anyone want ..... ??

Agree JimmyJazz - zero change.
So what have we been doing and trying for 2-weeks during the international break?
Predictable and boring which is exactly why we've slumped to mid-table.

How anyone can play two defensively minded midfielders who have offered zero protection to the back four all season, at home, against a side in 18th position, in what is really a must win, is quite frankly nothing short of laughable.

Come on then bohslegend, essex57 stick up for this team selection..............shocking, just shocking.

Do not care anymore about team selection or formation. Only one thing counts and that is the result.

I want to see a convincing 3-0 home victory to show that we are not just masquerading but real challengers for top 2 (which is not at all the case based on past 5 matches)

That's it for me ....... thanks Mick you've done a great job for us but now seem incapable of changing & are becoming increasingly bloody minded. Next please .......

Defence looks shocking over and over again so he drops a forward and winger . Sears said we don't just turn up and hope win lose draw , that's laughable it's the same team every week and so predictable any manager could work us out . Still its got to work sometime MM law of averages !!! If it doesn't it's only adding more pressure on the manager for refusing to change it

Effectively Mick has made NO changes!!...the changes we needed has NOT happened! same old back line, Skuse & Douglas (gruesome twosome) are still in and 2 of the changes are in effect due to injuries, (Knudsen back in and Oar in for Fraser).

Hope you get a result Mick or you will be in for some stick.
