Fraser Named Football League Young Player of the Month Friday, 18th Sep 2015 09:12 Winger Ryan Fraser has been named The Football League’s Young Player of the Month for August. The 21-year-old, who is spending the season with the Blues on loan from Bournemouth, netted three goals in five games in the opening month of the season and was also nominated for the Championship Player of the Month gong. Fraser told The Football League's website: “It feels really good. It's obviously an honour to get it and with the start the team and I have had, I'm keen to get some more now. Hopefully I can keep up my performances and just push on from here. Having handed the Scotland U21 international the award, manager Mick McCarthy added: “I was delighted to see Ryan pick up The Football League Young Player of the Month award for August and he fully deserves it. “He's an infectious character on and off the pitch, he loves taking defenders on, he can go either way and he's already shown that he has a goal in him. He's just a really talented footballer and we are delighted to have him here.” David Wetherall, The Football League’s head of youth development, said: “Ryan Fraser is an exciting young footballer who has made a flying start to the new season. “Joining a Football League club on loan and bagging a number of first-team goals and assists will have boosted Ryan’s confidence and will, I am sure, play a big part in his development.” Photo: ITFC
