Injury List Reduced Ahead of Watford Clash
Friday, 7th Nov 2014 14:22

Keeper Dean Gerken and midfielder Cole Skuse are the only Town players left on the injury list ahead of Saturday’s home game with Watford, while Luke Hyam misses out having reached five bookings.

Jonny Parr, Teddy Bishop missed the Wolves game with groin injuries, while Jonny Williams was absent with a calf problem.

“We’ve only got the two injured now, Gerks and Skusey,” McCarthy said. “Jonny Parr trained, Jonny Williams trained, The Bish trained, Kevin Bru trained, having had a heavy knock on his calf on Tuesday, I thought he was excellent, I have to be honest.

“Tyrone had a bit of a knock, he’s trained. There’s only Didz hasn’t trained. He had a spasm in his back on Tuesday before the game and I thought he was a doubt but he’ll be all right, we’re just nursing him along, he’s had plenty of football. He’ll be fine.”

McCarthy expects Gerken and Skuse to be available again after the international break.

“I would hope so,” he added. “Gerks’ was a groin strain, he’s progressing. Skusey’s is the pubis symphysis, I think he’s just overstretched it and if it gets inflamed it can prove a problem.

“We’ll just settle him down and do nothing until he’s ready and he’s got a couple of weeks now after tomorrow.”

Some difficult decisions for MM to make on starting team and subs.I imagine most of us would have trouble in making the selections and certainly in agreeing with eachothers selections.Good luck Mick,I have faith in you getting the selections right.

I have a suspicion if Collison not ready MM may go:-

Bart
Parr Smith Berra Mings
Chambo Bru Tabb
Didz Murph Williams

Be harsh on Hunty and The Bish, but with Parr and Mings pushing on and that Front 3 we have enouigh going forward.

HOWEVER, expect Sammon to figure somewhere some time. Have a feeling MM is going to try and turn him into the next Murphy !

This is certainly good news for tomorrow. We know that Watford are an attacking side, and for the last two seasons Mick would probably have set out to negate them;but I am hopeful that we will go on the offensive as we are at home and test their resolve at the back.
They have a multi national team to say the least who are good footballers;but if we get in their faces perhaps they" wont like it up em"(Capt Manwaring)

Good news. Watford play an attacking game, so can't afford to sit back and let them dictate. Need some flair in the midfield against them. Williams or Bishop for Tabb?
