Edu Reported to Have Headed South for Talks
Saturday, 11th Aug 2012 18:06

Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu is south of the border holding talks with the Blues, according to a report from Scotland this afternoon. The US international midfielder is set to leave the Glasgow giants, who drew their first Scottish Third Division game 2-2 at Peterhead earlier today, with news of Town's interest emerging yesterday.

Having told manager Ally McCoist that he won’t be transferring his contract to the Rangers newco, Edu wasn’t involved at Balmoor with claims that he has travelled south to speak to the Blues.

While talks may well have taken place at some point today, manager Paul Jewell was spotted at Watford's Capital One Cup tie against Wycombe, presumably keeping an eye on the Hornets ahead of the Blues’ first away game of the new season at Vicarage Road a week on Tuesday. The Championship side won 1-0 after extra-time.

If we pull this off and get in another player of either CB or Striker then maybe we have a shout of the play-offs, this signing would also attract other players to our club who may be humming and ahhing. These next few days if we are in negociations with Edu could make or break our season.

If this comes off, it'll be the most excited i've been about a signing in a while. A creative midfielder is really what our midfield has been crying out for, creating chances for the oh so in form Chopra to blast home.

But, i'm not going to get too excited yet. When i see a picture of him holding the shirt in fortress PR, then i'll crack open the Cava and a big bag of kettle chips.

Scribble

The Simon Clegg interview is here, think it's about an hour and 15 into it. There's a bit with Carlos Edwards earlier on.

Would be pretty amazing based on other fan comments I we pull this off. I just hope that this story I true and that the club can continue to keep any negotiations under wraps. The last thing we want is competition from another championship club. Here comes the motto's:
Keep the faith!
In Jewell We Trust!
Ipswich are better than everybody!
And lastly, COYB!!!
