Cresswell Hoping to Reward Fans Saturday, 17th Mar 2012 09:30 Town left-back Aaron Cresswell is especially anxious to reward supporters with a win against Peterborough at Portman Road today. Not just to help erase the painful memories of the 7-1 defeat in the corresponding game at London Road back in August, but for their loyal backing throughout the season. Cresswell, 22, said: “The fans pay their hard-earned cash to watch us play and for those who travel to away games it obviously costs that much more. “They have been terrific all season and I guess they would love to see us beat Peterborough and avenge the defeat we suffered at their place. “For anyone who was there the memories will probably last forever, although from my point of view it is one I would much rather forget. “We were down to nine men and everything seemed to go wrong. We were all thinking that the sooner we got off the pitch the better. “It is something I never want to repeat. We went through every emotion you can think of on the coach journey home. “It wasn’t nice sitting on the bus with nobody talking. I remember thinking it was just as well Peterborough was one of our shorter trips. “Our confidence was well and truly shattered and it would be nice to get revenge. We will just play our usual game and hopefully get the three points.” Photos: TWTD/Action Images
