Ward and Henderson Turn Down Town Move
Ward and Henderson Turn Down Town Move
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 19:01

TWTD understands that Portsmouth duo Joel Ward and Stephen Henderson have turned down the chance to join the Blues, the clubs having agreed a joint fee earlier this evening.

The pair, part of a triple bid which has been ongoing for several days along with Jason Pearce, are believed to have turned down Town’s contract offer.

Henderson announced his intention to stay at Portsmouth earlier in the evening via Twitter.

Whether the Blues will continue to negotiate until the 11pm deadline remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, former Blues loanee Keith Andrews is reported to be in talks with West Brom.

Honestly some of you mugs on here want putting down.
Call yourself's supporters?
As poor as we have been this season you should still get behind the team.
And as for who's in & who's not, you won't know until the deadline.

and Portsmouth are now signing someone - are they actually in financial difficulty or is it one big con?

4-1 up against West Ham 25 mins to go....perhaps we don't need to sign anyone lol
Or we could lose 5-4 of course :)

Mr ward and mr Henderson I do hope you are very happy playing for nothing and you have noticed tonight's result in Suffolk and maybe just maybe we don't need either of you and the pair of you refusing to come here could be a blessing in disguise.

I noticed Swindon played at Southend, any chance of getting Richie and Caddis to Portman Road in time? With Richie also scoring and Caddis a right-back, surely it should be considered?

Might get the 2 for nothing when Pompey go bust...

5-1 and who would have thought that...

Could be an interseting career move in a few weeks time. No way the HMRC will let Pompey off again, so when they get wound up the likes of these two will be begging someone to take them on. But why it's been allowed to get to the deadline without us getting anyone meaningful in is beyond me.

Decent result tonight...

Glad we didn't get them - it was a centre back we needed anyway, a right back perhaps but not yet another midfielder who would struggle to get in the team after tonight. Jewell's found the right blend more by accident than design - now stick with a winning team including ALB who has been our best keeper this season.

well done on great result however no one expected this result not the fans or ME this is why Jewell hasnt been given any money it was meant to be his last game in charge but beating the leaders 5-1 the board cant touch him so what now ... they will wait till next week and use the loan market all this talk about Portsmouth players was just a smoke screen.

Couldn't agree personal terms? Obviously they didn't want to come here so most likely put in high wage demands.

Yes, its disappointing but do we as fans want players here who don't really want to play for the shirt? I don't.

Well done to the board for not being held to ransom. Lets get a Premier League Centre half and right back in on load until the end of the season and get it sorted in the summer.

Andrews just got to West Brom.

More failure from PJ and Clegg. Tonights result was brilliant - but I still don't believe PJ is the man for the job. He has had MONTHS to sort the defence and he has FAILED. One good result does not make up for this.
