Ward and Henderson Turn Down Town Move
Ward and Henderson Turn Down Town Move
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 19:01

TWTD understands that Portsmouth duo Joel Ward and Stephen Henderson have turned down the chance to join the Blues, the clubs having agreed a joint fee earlier this evening.

The pair, part of a triple bid which has been ongoing for several days along with Jason Pearce, are believed to have turned down Town’s contract offer.

Henderson announced his intention to stay at Portsmouth earlier in the evening via Twitter.

Whether the Blues will continue to negotiate until the 11pm deadline remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, former Blues loanee Keith Andrews is reported to be in talks with West Brom.

Not sure what you mean by loyalty ruffcider, we don't get to experience it here because no one would want to sign the garbage that turns out for us on matchdays

Fact is that in the 'World of Football' we are just about fit to rub shoulders with the Colchester's and Southend's of the game (no disrespect intended towards either of these clubs) - but that's the reality of it all.

Welcome to a real smell of the coffee people - that's where we're at.

Don't even think of comparing us anymore with the northern point of the A140 - fact is again, they are 'light years' ahead of us, in totally different hands, and heading full steam ahead in the 'right' direction.

Slag me off for saying it - I don't care, because it's TRUE.

SHAMEFUL, SHAMEFUL, SHAMEFUL situation for this ONCE

Stevet. Professional footballers are only loyal to who will pay them the most, like your loyal Mr. Norris.

as well as huddlestone, just seen marvin sordell has been removed from the watford squad by owners request, i know it seems optimistic, but ive always rated him, maybe jewell can save his job with this signing...any thoughts?

Pompey fans I actually ACTUALLY can't believe anyone would bother to sign up to say this sh*t.

Not a shock the Pompey players have told us too do one!

Another quality transfer window for the Town....LMFAO

Can any other club be so incompetent when it comes to transfers?

Fear we may get a tonking tonight, hope I'm wrong but I can't see us getting anything from the game.

the annoying thing is this deal could of been dead 2 weeks ago as they clearly had no intention of going to us in first place, now we find ourselves picking names out of a hat 'number 34 Dissa Diallo'

No point trying to hard to bring them in.
If they dont want to come let them be.
We dont want in people that dont want to play here.

We are going to be OK.
This season is gone but the next is going to be our year.

It was never going to happen and you can't blame the lads. There is something badly wrong at Town and it'll probably take a major shake up for us to find out exactly what. Young players treated badly, poor signings (non-existent) coaching suspect at best, trying to asset strip crisis clubs, no youth policy. Not a conspiracy theorist but beginning to wonder what ME's real plan is.......

This news doesn't surprise me as only the other day I posted that we weren't the most attractive proposition due to our league position. However, it means that management have to think of something else to turn things around, such as signing a coach who can really organise a defence. Otherwise, we are going one way only and that's down.
Oh; good to see h32 back.

Right - positive thinking. Please Clegg now tie up the Smith, Carson and Scotland deals and start targeting the players we want at season's end. ME - find replacements for Calamity Clegg and Jewell and design a proper 5 year plan blending youth, good football philosophy and a bit of investment.....oh boll67ks, just woken up!

My God! that's because the predicament we find ourselves in fighting relegation, down to Jewell largely and alot of the duffers he has bought in! Really poor transfer window, I wonder what excuses PJ will make up!

Ipswichbusiness - never thought, after all the years of supporting ITFC, I would be so affected by what has happened / is happening to our Club.
Really, really hurts.

Lets get behind our club. Im not happy but we stick together the fans. So for our sake lets stay up. Build from the ground up.

Not sure about how much truth is in this, reading Daily Mail says Keith Andrews has requested a transfer from Blackburn and has been disappointed that Ipswich have not got in contact with his agent. Strange why not? he scored 10 goals for us on loan, I reckon its to do with his wages and transfer fee, Marcus Evans must be feeling 'once bitten twice shy' regarding Jimmy Bullard - that's how I'm reading it, I might be wrong! Shocking if this is true!

OK no belief in ITFC
The manager needs to cut his basic salary to £20,000 like the rest of us, a year, with a £5 million bonus for access to the Premieship.

As a percentage of those benefits.

PJ has NO vote of confidence anywhere and, perhaps, unfortunately needs to be changed.

It's not his fault. He just hasn't the breadth of mind to manage a football club that is not circa 1990. Times have moved on and we need someone with at least the idea that you build your team from the BACK. I love his freestyle middle of the field approach, but you know if you can't put a defence together you can do NOTHING.

What a bloody joke, 31 days we've had to bring in new players, its not like we didnt know we needed defenders is it!?!? As previously said this trio could have been dropped 2 weeks ago when it became obvious that the players didnt want to move. CLEGG is a disgrace, I wouldn't spit on him if he was on fire. Surely JEWELL should have had a plan B? but no, he decided just to keep all his eggs in one basket, what a fool.... so now its down to more pathetic "has been" loans. who have no desire or passion for our club. I'M SO ANGRY....
