Priskin Linked With Millwall
Priskin Linked With Millwall
Thursday, 12th Jan 2012 13:52

Out-of-favour Blues striker Tamás Priskin is a £250,000 target of Millwall, according to reports in Hungary. The 25-year-old, who is also interesting Russian second division leaders Alania Vladikavkaz, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Claims of a swap deal involving Priskin and Millwall’s James Henry have been floating around Twitter and Millwall forums in particular for a couple of weeks so the report may just be a result of those rumours.

Blues boss Paul Jewell appeared to scupper the chances of that suggested swap taking place when he denied that he was going to return for summer target Henry.

Speaking to the media in Hungary prior to the Millwall reports, Priskin confirmed that there are clubs interested in him: "Indeed, there offers, although I cannot report an agreement."

Priskin, who isn’t ruling out a move to Russia, says he wants to play more football and hopes his future is sorted by the end of January.

Regarding Alania’s interest, Town manager Paul Jewell said last night that he has heard nothing from the Hungarian’s agent regarding the proposed switch: “It’s news to me.”

Meanwhile, Millwall have made an enquiry to Barnsley regarding ex-Blue Danny Haynes, who previously spent time on loan at the Den in 2006. Charlton are reported to have had a bid accepted for the winger or striker.

Not sure about this! Maybe if we get Henry, but it would be our luck for him to score against us at Portman Road. In what could be a CRUCIAL game.

For me, he should be starting every match in a front 2 - something he has never been afforded since he joined.
How Jewell can put Ellington ahead of Priskin in the pecking order says it all for me. Does anyone remember when Priskin played in a front 2 with Scotland and was so impressive?
Of course not, let's judge him by his stats! But don't judge Chopra/Ellington and to a lesser extent Scotland on this basis!
A good player with huge potential, takes an evolved style of man management to get the best out of him (he got too much too young) - shame his tenure here has been under managers who've been cack at best.

He'd do alright at Millwall I'd wager - our loss.

£1.7 million down the swanny, with only ourselves to blame!

Any chance of getting Trotter back? If only we could have kept Trotter he could have grown in to the main man in our midfield in what could have been a settled team with Rhodes leading the attack and maybe Macauley at the back... Sorry I was dreaming anyway back to reality for now.

Pazelle .. i will bite ..Chopra started 22 goals 7 -ratio 3.14,Scotland started 47 goals 3.133, Priskin started 35 goals 9 ratio of 3.88 clearly the worst of the three stats wise ,but added to his lack of running ,effort, ability to win a header, hold the ball up or link play overall very poor probably why no one he has been on loan to has wanted to keep him either .
Agree £1.7 million down the swanny but Keane to blame ,and to think we got rid of Rhodes to fund it

Here's another possible scenario. Jewell is fired. Warnock is hired. Priskin back in the frame. He is basically a decent player in the right team. He needs to play and get some confidence - that's the only problem.

Can't believe Priskin has scored 9 goals in a town shirt?

Shame a Carling cup hero is so disliked as a player.

Shoopdelang

Trotter is no better than what we have to be honest, He is struggling in Millwall side..............................maybe Shoopdelang your right he would fit in here.

Not sure if Rhodes would be as good as he is if he had stayed here as he would still be palying a hand full of games here and there, he needed to go out for a season long loan etc and then we could have had a good striker, However Rhodes has still to prove himself in the Championship and it still a big step up as we have found with some players we have brought.
No saying he cant make the step up as Cresswell has proved, but even of late Cresswell form has dipped as is expected in the team at the minute,

@Surco72
He is the worst of the three but has he ever played with confidence since he's been here? Keane treated him abysmally and if any of our players need confidence it's Tamas.

Chopra and Scotland have premiership experience and runs in good sides as a valued striker. Priskin is far younger and waiting for this opportunity, he hasnt been given it here despite costing £1.7 million - our biggest fee paid for a striker since Marcus Bent if I'm remembering correctly.

Graham Rodgers got him firing them in - we haven't had a manager comparable working with him. When he goes it will bite us on the ass in true ME's ITFC style.

People who think he's cack are just supporters who haven't kicked a ball since they were at primary school. If you played football, you'd decapitate a panda to have his natural ability.

You always have the feeling that there's a good player in there somewhere, but always seems to disappoint. QPR, Swansea and Derby have all tried him on loan, but failed to impress. It's not going to happen for him. Might as well let him go. That summer keano let Rhodes go for a sum considerably less than £1m & paid £1.7m for Priskin was not the best business ITFC have done by a long way!!!

I would prefer to see him in the side rather than Ellington. Treated poorly, needed a decent run in the side with support from others. Not easy in a team with no confidence. Chopra is another example of a player who has always scored goals regularly, but in this side is struggling.

pazelle he is a grown man and supposed to be a professional not a small child ,who needs telling he is really good all the time, perhaps the reason he is not given a game is because he doesnt try very hard in training and just feels sorry for himself .

Graham Rodgers had him at Watford where his record was 68 games and 15 goals a ratio of 4.5 games a goal ..really banging them in ?

Warnock had him at QPR 1 goal in 13 games ,if he does take over cant see him wanting Misskin.

But like you say people who dont rate him probably have never played before like Keane,Jewell,Clough,Rodgers,Warnock the majority of Ipswich fans ,the majority of Watford fans who couldnt believe we paid so much for him ,theyre all wrong ,light up another bad boy and stick to the Wii football with your pandas heads

How can people say he hasn't been given a chance!? He's played 50 times or so for town and been total cack! The reason it doesn't look like we've given him a chance is that we've realised in the last 6 months just how cack he is and no longer play him! Ellington is far better than priskin because at least ellington actually appears to care and tries for the team prskin would just wander around stropping whenever he crossed the white line!

Straight swap for Henry and I'd be delighted. Get the bloke from Crawley in and get rid of Ellington. If we're serious about getting out of this division, buy Rhodes back. I'd like to think we were smarter enough to have written in a buy back option into the clause!

Chopra, Scotland, Emmanuel-Thomas, Stubbs, Rhodes and Murray. I'd be delighted with as a strike force with Henry, Martin, Carson and Edwards providing the ammunition.

Defence would be nice first though!

Priskin is considerably better than Ellington and would frankly do no worse than Chopra or JET. PJ OUT

£250K is a good price though - as he is out of contract in the Summer. Doubt PJ would be interested in a swap - he prefers has been over 30's or loans.

Just real nice on the score at BC, i mean we're really putting a foot in the bloody right direction aren't we! Jewell sort it out! Get theses players of their backsides! Play football, play what their paid to do! We pay part of their wages they should put some god dam effort into their performances! If not get rid of the idiotic manager and for god sake ME employ a REAL! Manger!! I am almost positive we're going down this season congratulations!!!!! Well done!!!
