Priskin Linked With Millwall
Priskin Linked With Millwall
Thursday, 12th Jan 2012 13:52

Out-of-favour Blues striker Tamás Priskin is a £250,000 target of Millwall, according to reports in Hungary. The 25-year-old, who is also interesting Russian second division leaders Alania Vladikavkaz, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Claims of a swap deal involving Priskin and Millwall’s James Henry have been floating around Twitter and Millwall forums in particular for a couple of weeks so the report may just be a result of those rumours.

Blues boss Paul Jewell appeared to scupper the chances of that suggested swap taking place when he denied that he was going to return for summer target Henry.

Speaking to the media in Hungary prior to the Millwall reports, Priskin confirmed that there are clubs interested in him: "Indeed, there offers, although I cannot report an agreement."

Priskin, who isn’t ruling out a move to Russia, says he wants to play more football and hopes his future is sorted by the end of January.

Regarding Alania’s interest, Town manager Paul Jewell said last night that he has heard nothing from the Hungarian’s agent regarding the proposed switch: “It’s news to me.”

Meanwhile, Millwall have made an enquiry to Barnsley regarding ex-Blue Danny Haynes, who previously spent time on loan at the Den in 2006. Charlton are reported to have had a bid accepted for the winger or striker.

marc96 Have you seen Ellington play? He didn't look too interested at Hull on Saturday!

Record this season 3 starts and 14 sub appearances - ZERO goals and 1 assist. Not much of a record in my book. Not sure his record is any better than Priskin??

marc96. Ellington appears to care?? When was that exactly, I bet it was when I had to go to the loo before the whistle blew.

Priskin may be cack, but I would play him before Ellington any day of the week

Just notice that Priskin has made 1 appearance this season and 1 assist.

100% record. Made a goal every time he has played!! Much better ratio than Ellington.

KEITH ANDREWS

Seen on Blackburn Forum (blackburn.vitalfootball.co.uk) web site:

Right from the top, Keith Andrews is set to depart Rovers permanently in the next few days with (depending on who you believe) Wigan or Aston Villa his favoured destination.

It is believed that Rovers have not asked for a fee for Keith but merely to take on his wage demands which are pretty hefty for someone who jogs and closes down space.

But with Andrews super keen to leave expect him to be gone by the start of next week.

250,000? I'd bite their hand off. Painfully lazy player who's confidence is non-existant. Terrible signing.

If I had a choice between going to Millwall or Russia, I would buy a fur hat and head for Russia.

if he is so good, why is it everytime he goes out on loan, no one wants to keep him? he is like a boomerang, another poor signing, take the money and run...surco you make some very good points... i felt physically sick as i watched jordan score 5 goals last weekend, as you say the sale of jordan part funded this signing... Would be very interesting to see the stats on the "Ins & Outs" over the last 4 years since Marcus Evans started chucking the cash around..i'm hazarding a guess at around 50 players coming/going in that time?

Shame we haven't gone for quality over quantity..no wonder we're in a total mess.

And to think that Sir Bobby only signed 14 players in his entire 13 years here!

@Surco72, I'll do just that!

But seriously, on the contrary he does need to be pampered like a child cause he was a sheltered little million pound teenager who only started banking the cheques WHEN we bought him. Rodgers was there about a year with him, maybe even less than that - and when Tamas became first team and his confidence soared he hit a purple patch and was banging them in from all angles, finishing like a true surgeon.
We bought him for quite a lot, but if he carried on his form from the previous season he would have been a steal. Keane's gamble didn't pay off however as his mate Graham was much nicer to his players wheras Roy was like a hairdryer at Gatwick Airport. He was unlucky in front of goal despite being easily our best player for a patch, then he was shouted to the back of the class with a Dunce hat on and whipped with a ruler.
Jewell saw him cowering on the floor and just laughed with his mates (aka our professional football club's first team coaching staff) and sneered "you're cack mate".
Chucked him on at Doncaster after a serious whipping to prove his judgement correct in front of a crowd of thousands. 3-0 after 30 minutes, Priskin makes an inadvertent assist getting to the ball in the box before a defender to give us a hope for the second half. A sweating Jewell quickly subbed him off.
Some players are pansies, Priskin's a pansy, but a pansy which when watered will bear delicious nectar aka goals and crucial attacking participation.
Him and JET up front with Carson and Martin attacking the flanks would be superb - but our coaches are cack.

PS Do YOU play footy?

TP hasn't performed as we'd all hoped he would - but have a nasty feeling that if he does go elsewhere, he will start scoring.

Hero for a day (well, evening).
