Stockdale Hopes Fans Will Support Chopra Thursday, 27th Oct 2011 14:58
Keeper David Stockdale has called on fans of Town and football in general to give striker Michael Chopra their support in his battle to overcome his gambling problems. Chopra is back training at Portman Road with the rest of the Blues squad after three weeks in the Sporting Chance Clinic in Hampshire.
Stockdale tweeted: “Hope the Ipswich fans and all fans can support a player with an illness and help the guy. Proud of him for standing up and getting help!”
Boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that Chopra will definitely be playing for his side at Millwall on Saturday.

We all have problems in life its just most of us don't have it publicised, Chops is one of ours and I dare say will achieve legendary status with us given how much we love him already!
Right behind ya as always Chops, be strong, be focused, I'm sure all the fans are there for you!
"That goes for every person in the world who had an illness/problem! There is always a way out and people who care and want to help!" Stockdale tweeted it just now! Come on and get behid Chops, whats that coming over the hill?
I like it how stockdale seems so involved in what goes on at ipswich and he seems to be like someone who is enjoying life at the club and a real part of the team.
Ooooooo Michael Chopra hes a Striker, He Likes A Bet! Who gives a flying F**k When the Ball Is In the Net, He plays For Ipswich Town and He Wears The Number 10! Ooooooooooo Michael Chopra... and it just keeps going.
Any other lyricists out there with any rhymes to put together? We must be able to get something original together. Saying that, 'England til i die' is about as good and original we get as a nation so maybe one is wishful thinking in time for Saturday!
"He floats like a butterfly Stings like a bee Chopra, Michael Chopra Is Ipswich for me And its no, no, never (stamp, stamp, stamp) No, no never no more That he plays the Wide Rover No never no more.
Gambling is an illness and he has been man enough to admit it and seek help. Having had anorexia as a teenager I know just how hard it is to face up to the fact you have a problem and get help from others. Its not just a case of stop gambling/eat some food.
