Healy Set to Miss Portsmouth Clash

Town look likely to be without midfielder Colin Healy when Portsmouth visit Portman Road on Saturday. The Irish international was replaced by Andy Drury during the first half of last night’s 2-0 defeat at QPR.

Boss Paul Jewell told the club site: "Colin felt something go in his stomach and it looks like a strain.

"It's disappointing because Colin has been doing well for us, but it's very likely he will be out for the weekend."

TractorMan added 18:20 - Feb 23 Not as bad for a home game as it will force us to go more attacking with Drury. A big miss for Cardiff if he's not fit for that though with Norris only back for the trip to the welshies at the earliest.

Norris may miss this week's game I believe. So Bullard/Drury it is - unless PJ brings in a loanee - but it would seem we fail to do deals.

Pessimistic added 07:57 - Feb 24 I feel sorry for Colin Healey as he has excelled of late uner Paul Jewell. That said, it is a wonderful opportunity for Dury to prove his worth in the midfield and at home he should be able to express himslef more freely.

BlueBoots added 09:10 - Feb 24 Everyone seems to think Drury's the definite replacement, but he looked off the pace when he came on for Healy on Tuesday. For Saturday, I'd like to see PJ play Wickham further forward (he looks our biggest goal threat at the moment) with Priskin, and play Peters and Martin wide with Leadbitter and Bullard in the middle...

emergencylime added 10:30 - Feb 24 Agree with Blueboots about Peters. As our longest serving first teamer, he's been desperately unlucky to be squeezed out of a strong midfield. Imagine Edwards and Peters bombing up & down the wing all day, Portsmouth would be knackered!

A shame as he's a quality player, but then quality is something that we don't lack in the midfield thankfully.. Agreed a speedy recovery for Cardiff please. Then again the thought of playing an in-confidence Wickham down thee middle in a 4-4-2 formation (with Martin, Bullard, Leadbitter and Norris) is equally tempting. Equally I wouldn't be averse to seeing Peters occupy a touchline as someone said earlier, but against Cardiff I fear Drury may still be slightly off the pace - next season he'll really come into the fold I reckon.
