Walters Hits Back at Keane
Walters Hits Back at Keane
Sunday, 19th Sep 2010 09:53

Former Blue Jon Walters has hit back at Roy Keane in one of this morning’s tabloids, claiming that he had to send a photo of his vomit to the Town boss in order to prove he was suffering from a virus ahead of the Exeter Carling Cup tie.

In an interview with the News of the World, Walters says he is by no means the "bad egg” he was claimed to be at the time of his £2.75 million move to Stoke City and says he missed the Exeter match because he was genuinely ill.

Walters said: “We had Exeter away and all during the week everybody in my family had a vomiting bug. So I quarantined myself from the wife and kids to try and avoid it.

"But at 3am on the Tuesday morning I was throwing up. I even took a picture of my sick and sent it to the physio because I knew Roy wouldn't believe me, what with it being a cup tie, clubs being interested in me and all that sort of thing.”

Walters has made five starts and has scored one goal since moving to the Britannia Stadium last month.

Very well done Roy Keane for encouraging him to leave and pursue his desire to play in the Premiership and what a terrific bit of business too !! I am more than happy with our Manager

What a nothing story.

So what if RK would not believe him if he phoned in sick. I am sure lots of us have bosses that may be suspicious if we went sick at a convenient time.

How would a photo prove it? He has alraedy said that his wife and kids were ill, he could easily of taken a picture of their vomit.

Walters had a good time at PR. I only wish he could have been professional enough to appreciate what he had, move on and keep his gob shut.

Anybody who believes this story over the scenario that Jon pulled a sickie so he wouldn't be cup tied must have rocks in their head.

Who cares anyway. walters has gone and ITFC have moved on . maybe Chambersm and Zippy should do the same as i'm getting SICK of all the dribble that they write. If you dont like RK or the club go elsewhere. We need supporters who will get behind the manager and players.
I fully understand that every person as a right to express there feelings but to critisise the club and RK like you two do week in week out , go and do it somewhere else.
