Wickham Confirms Injury and Norris Also Sidelined
Wickham Confirms Injury and Norris Also Sidelined
Tuesday, 27th Jul 2010 14:08

Striker Connor Wickham has confirmed that he will be out of action for six weeks with an ankle injury. Midfielder David Norris is also currently sidelined with a back problem, which means he will miss the midweek friendlies at Leiston and Bury Town.

Wickham told the club site: "I took a shot at goal and felt my ankle give way. It's very frustrating and it looks like I will be out for six weeks."

Manager Roy Keane says Norris has a back problem: "Chuck is a concern for us as well. He's got a stiff back and you have to be careful with that type of problem.

”He won't play over the next few days and will be touch and go for the West Ham game at the weekend."

Town sides are at Leiston this evening and Bury Town on Wednesday (both 7.45pm).

for @@@@ sake!!!!!!

Who next? The season looks like its taken another stumble.
Nice to see Fulop could be coming, hope it goes through.
We are still going to need more players. Maybe a couple of loans to cover for Wickham and Norris. Can anyone remember what happen last season when Norris got injured?

Not wishing anybody ill BUT I hope the cynical Norris is sidelined for long enough for Garvan to decide to stay and give us some entertaining football this season.

£50 says that Wickham isn't injured! 6 weeks is a week after the transfer window closes. No one wants him to go. It's quite hard to pass a medical if you're injured!

He'll miss:
Middlesbrough
Exeter City
Burnley
Crystal Palace
Bristol City

Boro is the only team we should struggle against and Keane is clearly trying to bring a striker in.

Keano!

Out for 6 weeks, thats going to be a MAX so he will be back in 3-4 as he is still young,
Keane now needs to bring in a few replacements and he knows that so stop moaning about it, transfers obviously take alot longer than people expect them to,

WE STILL HAVE FAITH
KEANO!

sms we would go well to even get a couple of points out of them games, i really think we are looking at a relegation scrap next season, going to be squeaky bum time.

Lets get one thing straight, this team at the momenthas enough in them to not be a side battling relegation, i mean be serious its not we have decent players but we will be in for a mid table season for sure if we dont get a new striker in and maybe 1 or 2 loan deals for a few other posistion if we can do that then with wickham back from injury can mount a promotion push. Thats being realistic. optimists will say promotion is still what we will get and pesimists will say we will be in a relegation battle and thats the facts of it at the moment. Its going to be mid table mediocre season without a few more faces id say.
