Yes, I know, but u21 status only applies to players born after 1st January 2001. El Miz is too old, and so has to be included in the squad list.

So with Leif Davis now added to the squad is my maths up to speed we are now at the EFL limit of 22 outfield players over 21.
It would be great to see Celina and Hirst added but presume it is now more of a case of 1 out to get 1 in which will surely add complications to any fresh signings.
We can all guess at who can be loaned out/moved on but that is not always that simple and reading this board there are pro's and cons against many players from us all. | | | |

Hopefully Hughes has done enough in preseason to warrant a longer contract and an immediate loan to a League 2 club. | |

Leif takes us to 21 of the allowed 22.
John Jules, Walton and Hladky do not count.
Hughes, who featured early pre-season does not appear to be part of first team plans, and would use up one of our over-age places, so I cannot see that happening
Humphreys could be with the first team this season, he would be an under-age player, as could Chirewa but more likely he will be U23s, assuming he signs new contract.
So looks like we have one place spare, or two if you move on one of Penney (most likely), El Miz (loan?) or possibly Harper.
Sounds like we are after a FW and possibly Celina, so looks like we will have just enough space if we move on one of the fringe players. [Post edited 26 Jul 2022 13:37]
