Obama got in, surely there must be some other good candidates of working age? Regardless of race.
I think after the last four years Democratic establishment didn't want to rock the boat too much with a candidate who could be perceived as, or painted as, a radical.
I'll be disappointed if the progressive wing of the party isn't more represented in future years.

Three years, wow. We watched in North Maine in our neighbour’s field with a cooler full of beers. We’d flow back on the night flight from Portland OR the evening before and it was a nightmare getting tickets as Oregon was a bit of a hotspot. The prices people were paying for flights that would have been up in the air during the eclipse was bonkers - 10x or more normal cost.
