Champagne dreams.... 16:50 - Feb 23 with 1158 views | Deano69 | ....and in some respects, promises Not a chance on lemonade money. Would rather there was honesty by the club owner with regards to expectations and strategy. Instead we get shot down with ‘we wouldn’t exist without him’ etc. I don’t know, maybe that is the case. All I know is that it’s an absolute mess and I just can’t seen an end to it. Feels like the old joke ‘how do you run a league one team?’ ‘Start off with a team knocking on the door of the premiership then just simply inject the bare minimum in to it and sell anything with a value.’ Sorry, sorry times.

Take your point but Norwich lost £40M last season.

Investing in the squad may not guarantee success, but not investing in the squad guarantees failure. And all clubs have running costs on top of what they choose to invest on players, so don’t bother replying with the usual he invests £6,000,000 a year squit. [Post edited 23 Feb 2020 21:45]

That makes no sense. Which other L1 clubs are subsidised to that level currently?

Champagne dreams.... on 10:24 - Feb 24 with 830 views | ElephantintheRoom | Firstly the budget for this division is 'massive'. There have actually been some pluses - and from where we finished last season, Lambert has added four decent players at this level...admittedly one is a long-term injury and one is a loan.... and the other two will probably be sold.... but they ARE pluses. Quite why you feel entitled for the club to run away with this division given the depths to which it sank last season I am not sure. For the first time since he arrived Evans has given an allegedly capable manager a long term contract... that too is a plus of sort. Even Burley hid behind a 5 year vision whilst fouling up in the second division year after year.... it might be nice to give Lambo the same luxury for another year... and perhaps even an experienced coach - or two.

uh, wot? You don't have to think Evans is remotely good for ITFC to accept reality. His losses make up what it costs to run the club including obvs the players wages. We have a bloated (and unbalanced) squad, a relatively big wage bill, and this season is 80% Lambert's failure if we don't get promoted. The rest of the blame is with the players, but honestly, a lot just aren't as good as some Town fans think they are. What irks me is the lack of cohesion or logical tactical plan when we play one game to the next, and when we need to change tack during games. This is down to PL and his coaching staff. Yes of course the buck ultimately stops with Evans, but it's not all black and white.
