I agree, he should have left the season after our playoff defeat.

Is it cut into a series on Netflix, or just available as a 3.5 hour film?

Yep, Scorsese agreed to let his film be chopped up into small parts.

At the mo - just 3 1/2 hour film.

Must admit, I didn't really notice the time. Although I did when I tried to get up off the sofa.

Not his best but still found it very good and, as above, totally absorbing.

Why wouldn't he?

He's released a film to TV. I doubt he is as snobby as you think.

Not bad - if people must. Though looking at the clock seems a very poor way to actually enjoy it.

Just immerse yourself in it. And if you can't get into it or find it boring then stop watching it.

Enjoyed it - nothing new here, but a good swansong for De Niro/Pacino etc.

Aye. Didn't particularly feel it was overlong, probably because all of the smaller detours just added to the overall story, as well as being beautifully shot. Some great performances in there too. Don't often watch movies but I'd give it six thumbs up.

On a side note, probably good to have some loose idea of who Jimmy Hoffa was and what happened to him.

Otherwise you might spend the entire film wondering where this is heading.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Sure, but I'd be surprised if most Brits nowadays, especially the younger ones, know who Hoffa was.

I didn't actually realise it was based on a true story until Hoffa came into it!

The ending fitted the narrative v well tho :)

I am sad they didn't reveal his remains were encased in one of the struts of the Orwell Bridge though, otherwise it is all quite believable.

It's based on a story for sure, whether that story is true is another matter.

Enjoyed it but the Mrs kept pointing out how much heavy make-up all the old fellas were wearing and it kind of spoilt the overall essence of the film there on...

Lesson learnt, watch films alone.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Pacino's nail varnish was a dead giveaway.
