Can we just keep all the Corbyn stuff in one thread please? 14:02 - Aug 1 with 795 views | SpruceMoose | Oh Jeremy..... by Steve_M 23 Mar 2018 19:39It's been known about for a while, this chap even wrote a pertinent blog about it:

At the very best Corbyn is blind to anti-Semitism, that's not an ideal position for a prospective Prime Minister, but he is quite prepared to indulge it in people he thinks are on the 'right side'.

Can we just keep all the Corbyn stuff in one thread please? on 14:06 - Aug 1 with 785 views | Steve_M | Fecking hell, 17 months ago that and the Labour Party is still unable to deal with antisemitism. That timeframe alone should disqualify Corbyn from leadership of a major political party. It's quite obvious why this has dragged on so long though: the leadership don't care about it. And however many times people perform verbal contortions to pretend otherwise is denying the victims of racism a voice in a way they would with no other racism. [Post edited 1 Aug 2019 14:10]

It shocked me just how old that thread was too.

It keeps going because Corbyn is still leader. It keeps going because political opponents and pro-Israel fundamentalists want to keep making specious accusations stick. And it keeps going because people perhaps aren't being honest about their own motivations and certainly not being honest about the actual evidence. We have a democracy in crisis. And this is every bit a part of it as lying politicians, voter manipulation through social media, foreign interference, unaccounted lobbying and a media that's not fit for purpose and can't be trusted. In fact, all of that is visible even here. But of course to understand that would require people looking at all the evidence, Steve. And that won't give you what you want.

Yeah, I suppose all the investigations and suspensions smack of a failure to recognise the problem...

Compare and contrast the speed involved in dealing with someone accused of anti-semitism compared to the fair more heinous crime of disagreeing with and/or criticising the Dear Leader..

Oh OK then. So it's not about a lack of action but the speed with which due process takes place. Fair enough. Should probably bounce 'em in a kangaroo court.

Is this the Alastair Campbell nonsense? He admitted breaking party rules while accusations of misconduct need actual investigation. You're so skewed over this stuff you're being utterly illogical.

If you need an example of "speed of process" then Chilcott and the Iraq Inquiry spring to mind. That was about something that had finished and took ages whilst Labour and antisemitism seems to be a moving target. Those who have been offended by this antisemitism are never going to stop. They will continue to be offended forever and nothing will assuage them. Lucky that the Tories have got Brexit as a distraction and have dropped that Islamaphobia probe of their own.

Can we just keep all the Corbyn stuff in one thread please? on 21:11 - Aug 1 with 566 views | bournemouthblue | Racism in any form is terrible and should be driven out, it would be interesting to compare how other organisations deal with it, what their processes are and how long they take for some perspective It always seems to come from Twitter We constantly seem to hear how the left has a problem here yet Newspapers like the Mail can print bile continuously which certainly contributes to the spread of hate with seemingly no repercussions at all We have had a politician murdered and several terror plots foiled which are coming from the far right, why aren't we getting the same media on this?

Steve you’re a well reasoned person as far as I can tell, what action do you think the Labour Party should have taken to better deal with the issue?

I must have missed the mass expulsions of those who backed Owen Smith. Or the expulsion of the countless prominent party members who openly undermine the leadership at every opportunity in the press. It appears when it comes to labour we now live in opposite land.

Good question. I'd like to hear the answer to this too.
