If Hurst stays true to his policy then surely The Pickle loses his place to Bart now? Gerken has had two disasterous flaps in recent games, as bad, if not worse than Bart's errors at the start of the season. There's no doubt this side needs continuity but Hurst has created a rod for his own back and I for one would feel a lot more reassured having a better shot stopper like Bart in the nets with such a leaky defence than The Pickle at the moment. |  |

I know there’s a lot of hero worship for Bart on here. BUT, his form had been atrocious and being dropped was fully justified.
Gerken is not everyone’s favourite, and yes he made a mistake yesterday for their first goal. But he then went one to save at least 3 “ dead cert “ goals. He is NOT a bad keeper. Bart, this season made SIX major gaffs , all leading directly to goals. So on the basis of mistakes, Gerks should stay in goal. |  |
