Got the safest job in football?

It would cost a lot to sack him and as the club has sixpence to its name and the owner cares not one jot about the place I would imagine Mick's laughing all the way to the investment pages of the FT.
If we lost ten games on the spin would that be enough?
I'm not sure it would.

We've not lost two matches in a row this season though, rubbish as large parts of it have been.

One would think we've lost six or seven in a row the way some people talk about it.

Reading into that comment, you presumably think we are totally safe from relegation?

It would not cost a lot to sack him if his contract has been written with a 'performance ' clause included
mind you, is Town management that competent?

I wouldn't say we are totally safe, but we always seem to drag a result out of somewhere, like Wigan before Xmas, and Bristol just after. That SHOULD see us safe.

Overall form, if maintained, will be fine. We've had a real mix of appalling performances, dull ones and the odd decent one since the Autumn.

Aren't you worried about or striker options?
We struggle to score. Even with 4 fit FWDS.

The Leicester 07/08 relegation slump is playing on my mind.
Their remaining matches after the FA Cup 3rd round defeat that season read:

W7
D4
L9

You did this one throughout the second half of 2011/12....

I'm still assuming that we will make at least one signing this month.

Big assumption..... or certainly a big assumption that it will be a signing of any note.

One thing Saturday showed is that we need a big, hard, box-to-box midfielder to allow Dozzell to play.

This notion about Mick being happy to see out a contract is, I think, nonsense. He's got plenty of money, and also plenty of pride. If things got really sh7tty (and to be honest, bad as the last year has been, we're still a step or two from that) I think he'd resign.

I can see Mr Mutual Consent making an appearance at the end of the season.
Season-ticket sales are more important to this club than many believe.
Derby, Brighton etc may well end up breaching FFP but their crowds are very good and that is a massive source of their income.
In the Prem, it's less important. TV money is everything and the demand for tickets is high anyway.
In the Championship, clubs like Ipswich need season-ticket revenue as a base.
Unless there is a massive turnaround in form, the number of season tickets will drop significantly again.
I imagine Mick has been told he will be backed for the rest of the season and they will chat again in May.

I still think that is the best, and cheapest, option for the club. There is more chance of a change of managerial approach too - if Mick is sacked this month then it will definitely be more of the same.
