'Superunknown' by Soundgarden is 30 years old today.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I read Made of Stone was released 35 years ago this week and that just about stopped me in my tracks and derailed my day. 35 bastard years.

Long after my time, I'm afraid.

Was an incredible album in 1994. It's still an incredible album now.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

What an album that was. I got my dad to buy it for me on cassette when it came out, I came home from school to find him listening to it, "sounds like Led Zep" he said.
Good bloke my dad, he drove me and a couple of mates to Brixton Academy the following month to see Soundgarden there.
Chris Cornell's death really got to me, absolute legend.

Cornell was probably the most talented male vocalist of his generation, in my view. His live acoustic album is amazing.

Jeez, makes me feel old! Some great songs on that album but not listened to it in full for years, will stick that on Spotify next week.

I saw that gig as well, although the crowd didn't seem that into it for some reason.

Pretty sure Tad were the support act? Saw loads of gigs there around that time so might have that mixed up with someone else.

I always flip between the two. Badmotorfinger is closer to stoner rock in places, really sludgey and heavy (which ticks a LOT of boxes for me), whereas Superunknown is the more polished and rounded album.

Yeah that's right Tad supporting. I think it was the week Cobain died so it was a weird atmosphere, not sure Soundgarden really wanted to be playing.

Yeah thinking about it, it would've been around that time. I had tickets to see Nirvana in Brixton in April 1994 but obviously that never happened. Never got to see them live but saw pretty much every other band from that era.

Almost 30 years since Kurt died too, where the hell has that time gone?!
