Take the point on 22:06 - Dec 29 with 1191 views | badadski | Like others teams fans have said - it will be our lack of squad depth that causes us issues - admittedly no one could envisage the Black Death wiping out half the team In one go.

Take the point on 22:08 - Dec 29 with 1089 views | BlueySwede | Second half was certainly better, but QPR frustrated us and we probably needed a bit more quality to finish them off. Thought Humphreys played well 2nd half.
Take the point on 22:20 - Dec 29 with 934 views | gainsboroughblue | QPR are going to be absolutely chuffed at picking up a point against a club who last season, were in the division below them and who had half their team out during the most chaotic period of the season. This is a sign of how far we've come and also how ahead of schedule we are with our progress. Of course, improvements are needed to the squad but it was never going to be managed in just one window and even in the first one, we just added Hirst who had already been here plus Taylor who had also been in L1. The fact that we are in 2nd place going into the new year sandwiched between the three relegated clubs and their riches of resources, is just incredible. Let the likes of Leeds and Nodge fans giggle about us 'bottling' it etc. It's all green eyed bulls***, we are on our way to the Premier, if it doesn't happen this year, so be it, it will happen. We will be all the stronger for the time we have to build.

Take the point on 22:23 - Dec 29 with 886 views | Churchman | If you can’t win, don't lose. It’s actually a valuable point all things considered. Disappointing, but with pretty much a scratch team just a few days after a high intensity match, against a team fighting for their lives, there’s only so much you can expect. Big picture says we are doing brilliantly. I wouldn’t have put a penny on us being second at the turn of the year. McKenna will have learned a lot about his players this December and that can only help when it comes to evolving the team in January and the summer.

The thing is we've all been saying that we'll never have a better chance of going up, we missed too many key players tonight, Hirst injury could really cost us.. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Spot on, particularly your last paragraph. It took Brighton and Brentford several years of knocking on the door to go up and now look at them. We're already way ahead of schedule and will definitely be in the mix come the end of this season, but if we don't go up we'll be promoted next year, or the next. This isn't a flash in the pan, we're building something really special here.
Take the point on 22:34 - Dec 29 with 733 views | Chrisd | Yep take the point, we could’ve lost that game. Every team is going to have a wobble - well apart from Leicester City - I think it shows the drop off when we have 4 or 5 key players missing it makes a huge difference to a side like us. No one would’ve had us 2nd going into the new year, it will be interesting to see what happens in January. Hopefully, we will do our business early.

What makes you think that we will never have a better chance of going up? We are no longer in a period of non-investment.

Well, we don't know. We certainly haven't had a better chance of getting into the PL than since 2014, when we beat Brentford on Boxing Day & Mick decided we shouldn't bring in reinforcements.

I don't think there is any danger of McKenna deciding not to bring anyone in. The big difference is we will be bringing in players with a view to more than just this season so we won't be struggling to be better than mid-table next season (assuming we aren't promoted this one).

Take the point on 22:49 - Dec 29 with 591 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Well Hirst isn’t coming back anytime soon, so I think January is crucial if we have genuine aspirations of top 2. Not really a point I’d take. To go up automatically we are going to have to beat everyone we are supposed to at home. Obviously plenty of extenuating circumstances tonight though.
