Atlantic weather update 11:13 - Jun 6 with 1507 views | earlsgreenblue | Madeira had registered yesterday evening 273litres per square meter of rain fall up to 23.00hrs , it’s still hammering down & those figures will be increased dramatically! Over 3 x times the volume required to trigger a red warning has fallen, roads blocked by landslides, schools closed, all council offices & entities closed, haven’t heard a car or anything so far today! I’ve got a 15mm hose siphoning the pool water out & it’s loosing the battle.update the update, now 476 liters per square meter! [Post edited 6 Jun 2023 11:19]

That is mad!! I've recently reignited my interest in Madeira as a retirement destination. Hope you're staying safe EGB. | |

Atlantic weather update on 15:20 - Jun 6 with 993 views | DJR | According to the online converter I used, 476 litres per square metre works out at 47.6 centimetres of rain, or just over 1.5 feet. That's some rain, given the highest 24 hour rainfall total in the UK is 27.9 centimetres. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
