Interesting documentary on Aberdeen's success in the early 80s on BBC Scotland 07:26 - May 12 with 663 viewsWeWereZombies

Sadly only the briefest of mentions for Ipswich (around the twenty seventh minute mark) but some very articulate contributions from players and one or two supporters (whose remarks and the footage of the ferry trip to Gothenberg will chime with our supporters who went over on the Townsend Thoresen to the Netherlands a couple of years earlier .) Only caveat is that, for those who cannot stand him, there is a lot of screen time from Alex Ferguson.

Love him or hate him - Words can't begin to sum up what an amazing manager Fergie was.

Premier Poster. Too good to be elite.

i love Ferguson, that drive to win, the way his teams played football, brilliant, brilliant manager. Watching the Champions league games in the mid nineties where they were pretty average early doors and you could see the growth in the team especially from 95 on wards when the class of 92 came to the fore was great to see. The years they played Juventus back to back when Juve were a very serious team, Zidane, Del Piero, Deschamps, Davids, when the 1st year Juve were light years ahead of them then the next season the gap closed, then the 99 semi where United beat them. To do all that with 5 home grown players and some expensive buys and him putting it all together.

If you have any doubt as to SAF’s managerial ability you need only consider where they are now compared to where they were then.
