I know a couple of Portuguese stadiums built for Euro 2004 did this. The Alvalade in Lisbon and I think Aveiro??

I think the idea was that it helped give the illusion of being full when it wasn't. Which is especially important in a place like Aveiro. Look them up. I think it looks a lot better in those grounds than Brentford tho.

But I don't know about Brentford. Maybe they knew they'd be playing without fans for a while? I don't know the timeline of the stadium design/build.

Here it is in Aveiro - they look to have done a better job. Although I haven't seen Brentford's ground empty. Also worth noting that the rest of the stadium in Aveiro looks like it's made of giant legos so maybe they are just nuts.

Yeah. It makes far more sense for them as well as it was a brand new 32,000 seat stadium for a club who averaged about 4000 at the time. They knew it would be largely empty after the Euros.
