On paper with players we have we should be walking this league.

It felt yesterday like Posh have embraced a new style of football with lots of movement off the ball , swift attacking and a plan to run at defenders .
Whereas Town look lethargic , without any sort of plan of what to do with it when they get the ball . The plan seems to be get the ball , stop to think what to do with it , pass back and rely on a defender to hoof the ball anywhere . How many times does a midfielder make a penetrating run forwards , it's all too static , the service to the forwards has been poor for ages .
Football played the way Posh played yesterday is exciting to watch and has left us way behind .
The decline in our club is down to poor management , poor tactics / training and poor recruitment and a certain complacency about how good we have been in the past .

I suspect from what has been said that the offer to extend was made in October, when the club were top, gates were good and the fans were re connecting. They were clearly still negotiating terms in December when Lambert made his comments about maybe not staying, and then the deal was done. Five years is only an issue if Evans doesn’t have safeguards in place, but given he will have been advised by the club’s lawyers I doubt he will be exposed and there will be something deal will early termination and limited compensation. | | | |
