Fascinating but colonising is an exaggeration. It is rather like having a seed there. It has the potential for life but it is not actually living until given the correct environment for life.

Well yes but it's a bit boring to say "water bears in hibernation on the moon".
They have survived in the vacuum of space (whilst being hit by solar radiation), they just shut down and then reanimate when the environment is suitable - they should be able to do the same with a stay on the moon.
