England 181 ahead with one wicket left but pretty humid today, it's well poised.

Ireland deserve to win if they bat half-decently, England have collapsed twice in pretty awful manner.

only been 4 successful run chases of over 170 at Lords. Good start though first ball of the day and out!

Pressure.

If Broad clicks then Ireland are toast. However, he is hot and cold and can bowl too short. I prefer it when he gives the ball a chance.

I think we will win but I'm sure Ireland will run it close.

I love cricket.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

It makes for a far more interesting finish than anyone expected before the Test. Even yesterday it looked like England would build a good lead - and I think 250+ would have been comfortable.

I might still be going tomorrow if it rains a lot today.

It's going to be tight. If England bowl with discipline the pressure will be on Ireland and I can see them falling short. However, Broad and bowling with discipline don't go hand in hand.

I certainly don't think it's a formality that Ireland will win today. If anything, bowling is England's strength currently and batting probably the Irish weakness. I'm sure I read somewhere yesterday if Ireland chase down 180+ it will be the 4th highest run chase in a 4th innings at Lords for test matches. That's a tall order with history against you too!

I'd be more concerned about Ollie Stone, he looked very good the other day.

45 minute splay before lunch then, we'll have them 4 down for not very many whilst we tuck into cucumber sandwiches.

EDIT: Ignore that 45 minutes, lunch isn't until 2pm.

Well it's 19/3 after 7.3 overs.

England will win this comfortably now I think, there's a bit of breeze around but still humid here.

Maybe I'll be going to Cambridge tomorrow then.

Got away with two dreadful batting performances really.

A very green wicket and Ireland's batsmen did well first innings but don't stand a chance now.

24/4 now. England not wasting the new ball.

24/6. Shame Ireland are going to be hammered here, they've made a match of this which will hopefully lead to more Test matches for them.

A shame as you say.

That's test cricket. Those conditions were perfect for England's bowlers today and Woakes and Broad duly exposed them. It is certainly tough on Ireland, they competed well for two days but just got simply blown away. They'll learn from this experience, however it just shows how things can change quickly in the test arena.
