He made an announcement which appears not to have been serious, but which had a major effect on share prices. That's a big no no. |  |

You are probably correct about short sellers. If you had a few milseconds notice on Trump tweets though I imagine you could make a lot of money for zero effort!

Well- yes. That seems to be the point of the lawsuits. The suggestion is that Musk is going to have to demonstrate that he had / has the funding in place to follow through what he suggested. If he cant show that, then he may have a real problem. | |

Agreed, he will be in real trouble if it's not funded and he doesn't have the evidence.
Musk has the Trump issue of tweeting without thinking. It's a real shame.
