Silly, silly tackle.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

Lucky? They deserved that. No luck involved whatsoever.

They've been very lucky many times over the years.

Damn their constant luck.

A last second goal keeping them in the competition is luck to me

Had a lot of luck in 66 and 90, among others, didnt they? Memory is a very selective thing.

Sweden played extremely negative in that second half.

After the red card they did nothing...

Over all they are lucky, should have been a pen in the first half, much much more clear cut to me than some of the calls

Completely agree. The sending off gave Sweden the chance to get momentum back but just weren't good enough to do it.

Shame Germany have not gone out but they look v mediocre. Nothing to fear there. Maybe this will be England’s opportunity to beat them.

Strange game Sweden disappeared 2nd half as an attacking force, just kept hoofing it, defended the edge of the box poorly, got what they deserved, especially after a very good game plan first half.

Is this the same team (Sweden) that rarely lets a goal in and beat France and Italy to qualify. A bit more composure and they could have had one or two good opportunities in the second half on the break, especially after Boateng was sent off, instead they looked knackered and Germany still looked liked they had plenty in the tank.

Threw it away, but fair play to Germany, they always keep plugging away and in fairness as much as I would like the big teams to go out (if it helps England), that is why they have won four WC's.

No luck there. Kroos is a wonderful player and that was a brilliant finish.

I was hoping to see the Germans go out tonight but it looks like a straight play off between Sweden and Mexico now to go through with the Germans.

They had a fair few chances second half too, I remember one of the pundits last week saying that the best sides always score late goals, can't remember who they were referring to now but there you go..

Sweden done a very good impression of England in the second half including a shattering last minute loss.

I'm not disagreeing with your general point but how were they unlucky in 90?

Yes. A game lasts 90 minutes plus whatever is added by the referee. A goal is not luck just it is scored late in a game.

I,m no fan of Sweden. They always caused England plenty of grief in past tournaments. Brolin, Dahlin Etc.
