I can't recall too many "they just needed a point to go up and mucked it up" scenarios. But I thought I'd wind you all up by starting a thread on it, after seeing this:

Has it been mentioned that when Leeds got promoted in 2020, West Brom needed to win to stay in it, and lost… to Huddersfield.. and also Leeds had the biggest gap between relegation and promotion to the top flight.. 16 years.. will ours be 23? If we make it.
Two top teams ….totally different mindset , the title was at stake for both sides .
I know, it doesn't quite fit the description, but Liverpool needed only a point at home, in fact a 0-1 defeat was sufficient, and they just didn't know how to play it, attack or defend. It just sprang immediately to mind.
