Leicester's remaining games now look tough 22:10 - Apr 12 with 2473 viewsrkc123

Put in the context of just losing to Plymouth, their remaining games look pretty tough, West Brom and then Southampton at home with only 3 days between them, then away to Preston. Even Blackburn at home on the last day isn't easy, and I get the feeling this Leicester team don't respond well to pressure, and 3 at home doesn't seem like an advantage given how their fans have turned recently.

Obviously we just want to take it one game at a time and get as many points as we can, but you do get the feeling the last couple of weeks it may not quite be as many as we thought we might need a month ago.

Said it somewhere already but they've picked up nothing from the 2 (easiest on paper) games they had left. And scored naff all in the process.

Tough opponents but slightly annoying 3 or the 4 are at home. That makes a big difference.

I think Blackburn are done. Leeds will smash them tomorrow and think leicester will beat them final day at home if thats what they need.

Preston (a) , Southampton (h) and WBA (h) def has potential for more dropped points. We'll need them to as i'm not convinced we'll get more than 7-9 points from out last 12.

They have got 8 days rest before their next game. I wonder if Maresca will complain that his players are rusty by then!

I don't think it matters where Leicester's games are at the moment. The KP will be as toxic AF if it's 0-0 or they are trailing after half an hour.

I see Leicester getting just 5 points from their remaining 4 games. A draw against WBA, a loss to Southampton, a draw against Preston and a win against Blackburn.

Leeds will probably pick up a minimum of 8 points. So a couple of wins from our remaining 4 games should be enough.

They've definitely got issues.

However their home record is as good as ours and thye'll be backing themselves to get 7-9 ponts from those 3 home games. I think tthey'll win at least two of them but hoping they lose to Preston.

I guess the threat of points deduction is playing on the player's minds and they do not see promotion as quite the promised land that other teams gain. Their prospects might be better served away from Leicester in many cases, some must be want away in spirit now. A lesson for other teams - keep your feet on the ground and stay within FPP.

It really isn't.

Both sides have won 15 home matches but they have lost 4 and only drawn 1. We have drawn 5 and only lost 1. Those extra 4 points could make a massive difference at the end of the season. A draw is not always a bad result.

Well sorry thats not fully accurate because your comparing records with them having played one less game and thats the point i'm making they have a loaded home run in which could help them.

We have 50 points from 21 home games played
Leicester have 46 points from 20 home games played.

So that's essentially as good a record on PPG as us. The fact they have 3 home games left is a plus point for them, thats undeniable.

However I'm not syaing they'll win them all, I think its realistic they'll win 2 of the 3 at home but could easily lose to Preston, so say they get 6 points, it would mean 7 is enough for us

Sunderland were done as well though from what people on here were saying.

Blackburn have been draw specialists recently. They are capable of getting hammered as they did last game but they are also capable of being stubborn. They need a few points to stay up and Szmodics is always a danger. 0.58 goals per game overall and xG of 0.49 per away game.

Leeds will probably win but Blackburn are not going to rollover.

Szmodics is going for Championship top scorer, too. He will be very motivated!

Think there were 4 or 5 players starting for LCFC last night who are out of contract at the end of the season. Would imagine most are moving on and in talks elsewhere and therefore raising commitment concerns. I would imagine those guys are worried about picking up knocks/an injury.

Their home record is not as good as ours.

If they won their home game in hand, they would still have 1 fewer point than us. They have lost 5 home games to our 1. That is the point I am making. Yes, they have played fewer home games but their home record is worse. Even if they win the game in hand as it were, it would still be (marginally) worse. They haven't won that game in hand.

PPG they have 2.3, we have 2.38. That is significant enough to make nearly 2 points gap over 23 home matches in a season. That is a better home record. If you further factor in that they have lost half of their last 4 at home and their next two are against 4th and 5th, I am not sure they will be backing themselves to at least win and draw both of those two.
