With regards the above listening to the 72 on R5 on 20:33 - Apr 4 with 2431 views | unstableblue | I’ve simplified the run-in fixtures above, opinion on result removed and final table from original thread. Listening to the lads on The 72 talking about the auto promotion race. In summary: Leeds and Ipswich have momentum and positivity in the fan base Leicester fans are not backing in the same way, and the financial issues are affecting. Leicester players are watching the table. But Leicester have 3 winnable games next - win those after the Norwich win and that could build the movement to then go on a run. Leeds have the easiest run-in and Farke know what he’s doing. Saints are pivotal as playing our rivals, but they are no longer chasing points. Ipswich are playing a lot of play-off challengers - Hull no longer?

Obviously the form table will change as the fixtures progress (as will the actual table but less so). It also depends on how long form covers (the 10-game table will differ a lot from the 6-match one). There is also home form against away form too. However, using the 6-match one: 1) Sat 6th 12.30 Norwich (4th) v Ipswich (1st) 15:00 Coventry (10th) v Leeds (2nd) 15:00 Leicester (15th) v Brum (19th) 2) Tues 9th April 19:45 Millwall (13th) v Leicester 20:00 Leeds v Sunderland (21st) Weds 10th April 19:45 Ipswich v Watford (18th) 3) Fri 12th April 20:00 Plymouth (24th) v Leicester Sat 13th April 12:30 Leeds v Blackburn (17th) 15:00 Ipswich v Boro (3rd) 4) Sat 20th April Leicester v West Brom (5th) Mon 22nd Boro (3rd) v Leeds 5) Tues 23rd April Leicester v Southampton (14th) 6) Sat 27th April 15:00 Hull (20th) v Ipswich 15:00 PNE (8th) v Leicester - Draw 15:00 QPR (7th) v Leeds - Draw 7) Tues 30th April 15:00 Coventry (10th) v Ipswich - Loss 8) Sat 4th May 12.30 Ipswich v Huddersfield (23rd) 12.30 Leeds v Southampton (14th) 12.30 Leicester v Blackburn (17th)

The only other thing to add is that our goal difference effectively means we need an extra point than our rivals. The Ipswich specific issue is whether Morsy can avoid 2 yellows in 6 games.
Run-In Simplified on 10:41 - Apr 5 with 1439 views | nrb1985 | Whatever way you cut it, our run in is pretty miserable albeit slightly better than Leicester's. Almost everyone has something to play for and Watford are now resurgent and still have year 2 parachute players. Unlucky not to beat Leeds the other night. If we could somehow just get a win of any kind tomorrow, even a "nob end" in 90th minute to quote Warnock, then I think we might have a good chance to ride that momentum through to the end though. It will take one almighty to effort to get us over the line but I put nothing passed this Coach or Team. Slightly odds against for now though IMO. [Post edited 5 Apr 10:43]

"..whether Morsy can avoid 2 yellows in 6 games" 5 games really. Who cares if he gets booked against Huddersfield? You see, there's always a bright side!

The Leeds specific issue is whether Sommerville can avoid injury or a red card in those same matches. The Leicester specific issue is whether a referee will fall for any more Dewsbury-Hall dives in the area.

Based on current form, West Brom at home is trickier for Leicester than Cov away is for us. That said, it could be argued that they are close enough to both be orange. I think the overall point is that on current form, we have very similar difficulty fixtures left. Another way to look at it would be to group them into top 4, 5-8, 9-12, etc. I might have a quick look at that too.

Norwich (a) and Watford (h) is hard Brum (h) and Millwall (a) is medium Hopefully the impact of the two newish managers at those Leicester opponents can galvanise. As I already stated if we falter and Leicester get two wins on the bounce to build on Norwich, and go on a run, we're in a different place. 4 points seems a good return. 6 and Leicester wobble, we'd be cooking on gas.
