Certainly for the last couple of years, and I expect the same pattern goes back for a lot longer. Just look at how far back 3rd place was in the last couple of seasons.

The thing that really leaps out for me from that is how good Burnley were last season.

Seems like Leeds, Leicester and ourselves are pretty relentless, but they would be ahead of the lot of us! (Of course, Leeds, Leicester and ourselves have to play each other, but even so).

I don’t follow the PL closely enough to know how Luton are ahead of them this season. Quite the turnaround.

Leeds are quite a bit ahead of the points they had (at the same stage of the season) when they went up with Bielsa. West Brom dropped off that season and Leeds pulled away in the last 2 weeks. This season could all come down to just 1 poor result in the last 6 or 7 games.

Looking at that, Burnley were promoted at this point on 87 points last year. Luton, in third, could only get to 86.

Burnley relied a lot on Tella last season. They are weaker this season than when they went up. Luton at least strengthened even if they didn't spend huge amounts to do so.

They won game 40 but then only got two points from the next nine - though no doubt their foot was off the pedal at that point.

They won their 40th too, so were on 90 pints to our 87 at the 40 game mark. An exceptional performance, but we're not far off it at all. But then look how they've done this year - a sobering thought. I think KM has more about him though and we'd do ok in the PL, assuming we got out recruitment right.

I’d say a couple of additions at the back a couple Of additions in midfield, and a striker.. I can’t see us going in for Moore. And I Can’t see us off loading loads of players, the core of the team will still be here next season, and rightly so.
