Maybe it's both clubs looking to end the loan (but we haven't had a leak).

Perhaps everybody hoped to get Williams back here in Jan/early Feb, but the issue is now looking longer-term?

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Agreed, they should have considered this when we could have replaced him with the freed up wages.

It came from a piece in the Manchester Evening News on MUFC's lack of left-backs which mused on the potential to end the loan, but clearly didn't know BW has been back at MUFC for the last month or so.

The only way this could happen would be for the well being of Brandon Williams, that is if his recovery from the current ongoing injury / illness, would be best suited to training and being available for whatever team back at Man Utd, living close to family and friends who can support him back to full match fitness. But I can't see that happening now.

But surely the issue of ending the loan is academic now the window is closed and he’s registered in our 25 man squad. He can do all the things you outline while the loan agreement is in place - like he is now. If the loan agreement ends we can’t replace him, United can’t play him (assuming they’re also at their squad limit) so what purpose does ending the loan serve (unless there’s some financial benefit either way)?

Theoretically, he could be deregistered from our 25-man squad (with EFL permission), in which case we'd have room for signing a free agent, should we wish to.
