You’re being a bit of a silly sausage about this aren’t you? (See Phil, I’m being nice).
For Parish to actually speak to McKenna, then they, (Palace), would have needed to make an official approach, and ITFC would have needed to accept that approach and allow McKenna to speak to them.
That is LITERALLY the only way McKenna could have been in ‘advanced talks’ with Palace. That would have involved scores of people both at ITFC and CPFC and the cat would have been out of the bag via legitimate sources before some random ITK wannabe could type ‘McKenna’ in the subject line of a post on TWTD, (not looking at anyone in particular).
If there had been an illegal approach, knowing our CEO and our ownership group, we’d have seen a ‘hands off’ statement officially by now.

News outlets reported McKenna was on the shortlist before your OP. You claimed talks were advanced, but in these articles we understand McKenna's representatives made clear he wasn't prepared to leave at this time. The truth is Palace's interest was/is genuine and McKenna may be their first choice, but also that talks were the opposite of advanced. | | | |
