Lack of player reaction 15:55 - Apr 11 with 1542 views | WalkyWonderland | Particularly in regards to Hirst's 'goal', but also other decisions yesterday by the officials that don't always go your way as is the case in every game for every team, I've seen a few comments and discussions noting that the team didn't react to these decisions. So I'm wondering if KM has instructed them not to? In KM's post match interview after the Bolton game, he said something along the lines that the team 'lost their composure' to a degree in the build up to the Bolton penalty award. I can't remember the cause but presumably an earlier decision had gone against them. I wonder if since then, the players have been told to accept it and get on with the game. Don't get caught up in it, keep focused and go again. There will be incorrect decisions in every game of varying importance and the ref will never change their mind. Opposition teams will want us wound up and to lose focus so it would make sense if they have been instructed not to get involved in arguing against poor decisions.

With our controlled and measured approach, and the inevitable increase in pressure/emotion , on the cards. Makes sense to keep calm heads. Besides, not often a ref changes their mind, or starts awarding decisions in a teams favor. Just because they've shouted in his/her face..

Quite the opposite sometimes.

It's right not to get too wound up by decisions though, keep in control where we can. Charlton away, and seeing the senior players lose concentration after Morsy's goal is another moment to reflect on as to why self-discipline is important. All that said, Alfie May somehow not getting booked for as blatant a show of dissent as possible was impressive refereeing yesterday.

Exactly my thought too... May could have easily had three separate yellows for different reasons.

Agreed. I saw his reaction to the assistant ref and thought that's a yellow. He then gave the ref a mouthful and kicked/threw the ball away and still didn't get a card! Little wonder the officials get so little respect.

He didn’t get booked for chucking that ball to the floor?! Wow

I know where you're coming from. But its so old school, berating refs, with almost threatening behavior towards them. Especially, in light of the recent Mitrovic thing.. Makes you wonder if we've just, purposely taken, a more respectful stance towards officials? Which, long term, can only be a good thing. A more modern approach, if you will.. But yeah, you're right, on occasion, refs have crumbled under player (and crowd) pressure.
