Long time, no post. Hope you're all good.
Looks like bus replacement from Witham to Newbury Park on the day, which is a pain.
Doing a little research on the cross country route but struggling to see how to get from Cambridge over to MK without heading down to King's Cross and back up.
Anyone got any bright ideas here or seeing something I've missed?

I think that is the only way possible, it’s not so bad going down to London from Cambridge then back up again, have done that a few times when it’s been rail replacement Ipswich-London. |  |

I was hoping for some returned tickets. We have ours (obviously!) but son and granddaughter always come to that game with us. As it is his birthday I have a feeling I will have to give him mine if I can’t get any more! | | | |

Last season we went via Cambridge and King's Cross, all went smoothly both ways, not overly expensive either.
Just can't handle long bus replacement journeys these days, particularly their anti-social no alcohol policy.
Don't forget to alight at Bletchley, not Milton Keynes Central....about half the distance to walk to the stadium. | | | |

I decided not to go as a result of this.
If it isn’t train drivers ruining things for others, it’s the fact that people have to get a train, followed by a bus, followed by a train to allow for the same work they have been doing for 30 years that can’t be done at night when the lines are shut.
