What's wrong with this penalty? 17:18 - Dec 21 with 1590 views | The_Flashing_Smile | At 6:05... a different player to the one who put the ball on the spot takes and scores the penalty. The ref books the original 'taker' and orders a retake. Not sure why though, is there anything wrong with that? I wasn't aware you had to nominate a taker and then stick to it. https://youtube.com/watch?v=xHMy13_Rh1k&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE

I stand corrected. I thought I was reading somewhere recently about a player other than the one the keeper was expecting taking a kick and scoring.

Yep happened to me once when I was a keeper. Player placed the ball and walked back to the 18 yard line. I was totally focused on him, next I knew the ball was past me and into the net. Player who took the kick was booked, ref ordered a retake. Player ran up, sent it over the crossbar.

This makes sense now I think about it. Never heard of it before (but then never saw anyone do it!)
