Politicians should avoid using the term, particularly when referring specifically to Jewish individuals.” Now I agree that Farage could do with shutting up but this is getting ridiculous isn't it?! Sat in the passenger seat coming back from Hoxton after Junior went to a gig and reading the online guardian. But as someone that thinks of globalism in terms of unfettered extraction of wealth from the globe by capitalists unrestricted by borders I find this an interesting interpretation. Seems you can refer to somebody as a globalist unless they are Jewish. I'll read your links now.

As with a lot of things linguistically, context is key, essentially. A bit like British Irony.

Well top of my globalist list would be the likes of Farage and Trump so I guess so.

Well that is what is claimed to be their meaning and is why I mentioned them. One of your original links referred to Hitler as a globalist too!

Related: Globalist. I suppose we could used 'globalist-capitalist' if 'globalist' has become contentious?

You need the double 'ist' in there; you can't use 'capital globalist' otherwise somebody might think you are Rathbonian-Holmesian antisemite!

Priceless. You didn’t even get the context of your own example right but created a new one. It’s English irony, as in the language.

No more mention of globalism/globalists please. on 09:29 - Oct 21 with 530 views | Darth_Koont | Van der Zyl and the Board of Deputies are fundamentalists (the ADL are too) so they’re the last people who should be actively policing language. However, people should at least be aware of the “code meaning” given that antisemites do use it. But that’s the same as any potential trope if you’re not specific enough. If you’re talking about globalist and mean globalist then there’s no issue. Exactly the same as if you complain about bankers and mean bankers. If you talk about “globalist bankers like the Rothschilds” then that’s clearly straying into different and very dodgy territory.
