Agree with that. Although I’d move Jewell between Lambert and Hurst.
I liked him as a person but his confused tenure set us back years, maybe even a whole decade. By the end, we were a struggling, expensive team of old lags and we’d abandoned the academy to pay for it.
At the time, I took that as Evans really supporting his manager against all the odds. But in retrospect that was the big sign that, as a club, we were focused on a goal that we had no real understanding or vision of how to achieve it. |  |
