Reducing the majority is significant but the result doesn’t tell us what we didn’t already know. In a leave constituency the majority of those who voted, did so for a leave party. The Tories will continue to lose votes to the Brexit party unless they deliver a harder Brexit than that proposed by TMay.

What no one seems to have commented on is how this neatly highlights the dilemma Labour have re Brexit. Come out as a full blown leave party and they would probably have picked up some of the Lib Dem votes, however lost some of their own and the ultimate result being the Tories winning the seat
