Terrible news. Grew up watching him every Saturday on channel 4 racing and on The Morning Line before he was given the boot.
Loved his racing. Was also a regular on Big Brothers Bit on the Side and was an amusing guest.

As a child I always pictured him as an evil Dickens character.
From his surname to his clothing to his overly applied make-up, he was born to be in a Dickens novel.
About five years ago I sat a couple of tables away from in a London restaurant and he ate with his fingers, whilst wearing fingerless gloves. I half expected the whole restaurant to break into song about him and his ways. |  |
