So there has been a coincidental 2.5% contraction over the last two years yet Brexiteers look to Germany's dip in Q4 2018 (the first since Q1 2015) as a sign of crisis in the Eurozone, despite it being an outlier.

I guess it's just a blip and we'll be growing faster than any other EU country very soon. Rule Britannia!

In the country in the main perhaps, but not amongst 'experts' who think Brexit is a bad idea by a long chalk. I'm sorry for not believing the man in the street ahead of economists on the matter, but vague predictions of what might happen aren't really good enough to base such a monumental decision on.

But ho hum, here we are.

Are these the same experts who predicted Armageddon following the vote in 2016? Those experts done a great job then didn’t they!

We were told at the time that the shockwave from a leave vote would lead to a 2016/17 recession, 500000 job losses and a 25% fall in house prices.

Did anyone predict Armageddon after the vote but before we left?

Fake news. They did predict the pound taking a pounding and business confidence falling through the floor. We'll have the effects of that to look forward to.

In his foreword to the Treasury’s analysis of the short-term effects of a Leave vote — released a month before the referendum — Osborne wrote: “a vote to leave would represent an immediate and profound shock to our economy. That shock would push our economy into a recession and lead to an increase in unemployment of around 500,000 ”.

“The analysis shows that immediately following a vote to leave the EU, the economy would be pushed into a recession, with four quarters of negative growth.”

I think things will play out in a way that suggests they were right.
And, mostly critics of Brexit were talking about "after" we have left.

Economics moves extremely slowly and to think that because things arn't completely shambolic now means it's all cool, would be a mistake.

Those links don't work.

It did represent a profound shock to our economy with the pound taking an unprecedented hit and business confidence too. The effect of those looks like pushing us into recession and job losses, irrespective of the deal we eventually reach.

But weren't we in a better place economically than was feared even under the evil, callous control of the EU? If the underlying projections had been correct then we'd be seeing what we're seeing under the line rather than just above it.

"Facts" without context aren't facts.

Check the links again.

It was predicted that the vote to leave would cause an immediate recession, 500000 job losses and house prices falling by 25%.

You said it was fake news that this was predicted to happen after the vote but before we left. I have just produced two links that show it isn't fake news. You could at least admit to being wrong.

You really are a tiresome bore at times.

Perhaps you can tell me how producing two links that show predictions were made that we would enter into a 2016/17 recession, see a rise in unemployment of around 500,000 and house prices fall by 25% after the vote but before we left is swerving or twisting?

Somebody made a post that this was predicted, DK said it was fake news and I produced the links which showed that it wasn't.
