If you could go to any pub and have any meal you’ve eaten again, where would you go and what would you have?

Had some really good burgers before in various pubs.

And pies.

Getting hungry now!

The Three Greyhounds at Lach Dennis, home made locally sourced game pie, it was amazingly outstandingly lovely, washed down with a great selection of local craft cask ales.

The Queen's Head in Newton south of Cambridge. They do rare roast beef sandwiches with horseradish using the meat left over from their roast dinners. Simple but amazingly good with a well kept pint.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

When I read your post catchers, the first pub meal that sprang to mind was of a wonderful pork belly I once had in a cheap hotel in Brandon.

An unlikely place to have a nice meal I hear you say, but they had a new chef on and she was clearly proud of this dish which she called her speciality.

It was so good it has stuck in my mind. Decent size, great cracking on one side, melt in the mouth meat on the other.

Shame it was accompanied by the worst mash potato I'd come across since being at school.

Can remember having a fantastic Cajun chicken in a pub in Port Isaac, Cornwall a few years ago.

Cadgwith Cove inn.

One of their fish dishes landed on the beach right in front of you.

The ale would have to be Skinners Ginger Tosser of course,or St.Austells Prroper Job.

Crossways Inn, Highbridge, Somerset.

Faggots, Mash, Peas with thick gravy.

A thing of beauty.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

I don’t think I’ve tried the Ginger Tosser - it’s good is it?

Wagyu Burger.

Genuinely outstanding, I know for a fact I'll never have a better burger than I did that day.

Trivia for today, Russell Osman grew up in Repton and his family ran the Bulls Head. It is another wonderful pub with superb food

Thanks everyone for the responses - just worried sometimes we don’t vary our menu enough. Always have our home made burgers (going to try adding marrow fat to our mix, I’ll report back), pork belly most of the time - cooked overnight. Just need to add Prawn cocktail crisps, Cajun chicken and we’ve most of you covered.
Benters - got Tribute on at the moment - will have to do- plus Adnams Bitter.

I tend to go for options such as burgers, pie or grilled chicken skewers etc in pubs in the hope in isn't therefore some sort of microwaved meal from facters mates at Brake Bros.

My fave is a good beef Wellington though

Pork scratchings at the Axe and Compass in Arkesden. And if they are a little stale, a bag of peanuts. All you need with a pint of beer. Which is what pubs are for.
