As I am bored at work I thought I’d waste my time compiling a couple of simple tables of potential managers in order and my thoughts on each candidate. Let the debate begin!

Wanted Managers

Name Comments

Harry Redknapp Obviously

Owen Coyle Promoted Burnley. Relegated Bolton due to four+ key injuries and Muamba almost bringing sudden death back into the FA Cup.

Kevin Bond Tottenham assistant, unlucky at Bournemouth due to 27-point deductions in two years and no finance. Could pinch Massimo?

Alan Curbishley Did v well at Charlton. Kept West Ham in Premier League

Glenn Hoddle Unlucky to be sacked as England boss. Didn’t lose for 25 games in first season as Wolves boss. Finished seventh following season. Resigned unexpectedly in anticipation to get the England job that never came. Not done anything for seven years.

Paul Ince Double promotion w' MK Dons. Unfairly sacked at B'burn. Couldn’t improve Notts County.

Jim Magilton Finished only just outside playoffs with town with 'better' football. Unfairly sacked at QPR. Did well at Shamrock Rovers and melbourne FC.

Gianluca Vialli Passion and comedy value

Alex Mcleish Promoted Hibs. Won everything with Rangers. Promoted B'ham. Only lost three games as Scotland manager – Italy (x2) and Georgia - beat France and Ukraine. Vilified at Villa.

Maybe Managers

Peter Reid Double promotion w' Sunderland (and one relegation into championship) poor at Coventry and Thailand before aiding Pulis at stoke to 11th in 2010. Unlucky at Plymouth.

Andy Scott Did well at Brentford with promotion. Several dodgy transfer dealings at Rotherham.

Unwanted Managers

Name Comments

Glenn Roeder Ex Canary

Nigel Worthington Ex Canary

Gary Megson Poor record at everywhere except west brom. Uninspiring.

Iain dowie Ugly as sin

Dennis wise Thug. Poor at Newcastle.

Steve Kean Recorded worst stats as B'burn manager since 1992.

Graham Souness Don’t like him

Gareth Southgate Relegated Middlesbrough. Paid £13.6m for Alfonso Alves!??

Phil Brown Having made several false accusations (cesc fabregas take note) he makes up untrustworthy character. Relegated Hull and Preston. Thought it was a good idea to buy Steven Mouyokolo.

I welcome all comments regarding my choices as I’m sure to have missed a few obvious ones. Also as a side note, these are only available managers - there will be plenty more if we pinch someone from another club!

Cheers.

I don't think we should go for Curbishley or Hoddle as they have been out of the game for too long. Are there any existing championship managers who would be interested because I'd rather have one of them then a 'massive' name who won't do anything. I would like to see Burley back at the club because we had were successful under him and were playing the right type of football.

Paolo Di Canio anyone?

Nothing to see here - move along please. All these managers wanted or not were well past their sell by dates about 20 years ago. No Big Sam? Football has changed and we must look elsewhere when the time comes.

Christ. Why would this even be a discussion? Are we looking for a new manager?

The obvious problem with this is that there is not a vacancy and, hopefully, there won’t be one anytime soon.

If there was then for me the leading candidate would be Scott Parker.

Glenn Roeder is too dead.

You appear to be speaking to us from 2008?

Dennis Wise is president of Como now, quite random

Hi all, no idea this was going to be posted again. Maybe a glitch @phil? It’s from 2012! I didn’t see Mick McCarthy coming did I….! And Ronny, don’t worry, I’ve since changed jobs!
