| Forum Thread | Book recommendations at 10:30 14 May 2024
Hello I’m off on my hols soon and I’m looking for some holiday book recommendations - fiction only. I’m not fussed in terms of genre as I like to read different things. But I’m looking for a book that contains a lot of humour (preferably darker humour). Also must have some action in it or a plot (just read Nora Webster by Colm Tóibín which in my opinion was incredibly dull and nothing happened). Thanks in advance for your recommendations. |
| Forum Thread | Footage from inside the players coach. at 20:09 12 May 2024
Hello I’ve watched a lot of the footage from last Saturday’s Huddersfield match - just wondering if any footage was shot from inside the players coach and if there are any links to it? In particular going through the welcome with all flares and noise? Thank you. |
| Forum Thread | Family days out near to Ipswich. at 14:28 10 May 2024
Hello Will be visiting Ipswich soon with the family - my parents are getting on a bit and will need a rest from their grandkids. Just looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for days out (places where a couple to a few hours is enough) near to Ipswich. Been to Eastern Farm Park and Jimmys Farm plus the transport museum. Any other recommendations please will be kindly received. Dud think about Felixstowe but just need a backup in case weather isn’t good etc. Thanks. |
| Forum Thread | On reflection, sincere apologies. at 20:14 23 Mar 2024
Think the last few weeks I’ve been unnecessarily aggressive to some and given Phil etc too much unnecessary hassle to deal with. Apologies to him and I probably owe GlasgowBlue an apology as well. Without looking for sympathy, in real life I’ve become far too shouty and needlessly confrontational which isn’t ideal for family life. As I said, not looking for sympathy but I’m going to seek help as I’m not coping that well. I’ll probably come off here for a little bit - see you guys ok the Premier League. |
| Forum Thread | Shropshire advice. at 18:01 18 Mar 2024
Hello Just wondering whether the TWTD hive mind will be kind enough to give me some advice regarding Shropshire. Is there a better part of kit to visit? And whether anyone has anyone can recommend some good places to visit whilst there? Must be child friendly - young children that is, not teenagers. Thanks in advice. |
| Forum Thread | This is a beautiful feeling. at 23:13 5 Mar 2024
I had a season ticket for years and years - travelled up-and-down the country watching them, often questioning why, just why. Now living hundreds of miles away and having two young kids I can’t get down that often. My passion for the club should be thinning out - but I find myself looking at the league table, trying to predict the results. Reading other clubs forums, listening to championship podcasts and trying to digest every bit of ITFC news. Like a young kid, I’m jumping up for delight when we score, loving the fact that I’m an Ipswich fan. Jesus, I feel much more of a connect to the club now than when I was living in Ipswich or in the south. It’s not that we’re winning - let’s face it being an Ipswich fan won’t always feel like this. But this team, this f**king beautiful team have given back dignity to every single one of us. Now, in this moment, we are the ones looking to the future with renewed optimism rather than the bargain bin of has-been players. And it feels great. As I said, I can’t get down to PR often (two or three times a season) but I’m not at all bitter or in envy at the people who live nearby (well maybe a bit) and able to go frequently. But it still feels beautiful to be a Town fan. C’Mon. |
| Forum Thread | Closed shop Premier League - interested tweet. at 11:29 4 Mar 2024
Just seen this tweet - it’s a few days old and I’m unsure how true it is. But on the surface it seems as an attempt by the established PL clubs as a way to implement a loose closed-shop for the Premier League.

| Forum Thread | Has anyone visited more than one Ipswich? at 19:27 15 Jan 2024
Obviously there’s Ipswich in Suffolk and I did know that that there an Ipswich in Queensland and in Massachusetts. But I don’t know about the one in Jamaica or in South Dakota. Which got me thinking - Has anyone been to more than one Ipswich? |
| Forum Thread | Restaurant recommendations in or around Derby. at 23:45 11 Jan 2024
Hello For my mum-in-laws 80th birthday we’re going to a village called Barrow-on-Trent…think it’s just south of Derby. We’re thinking of going to a restaurant on her actual birthday. With this in mind, does the TWTD hive mind stretch to any good restaurant recommendations in that area? She likes Italian food but open to all types of food apart from anything too spicy (fussy teenagers within the group). Thanks in advance. |

| Forum Thread | Advice needed from the guitar players of TWTD. at 20:31 27 Nov 2023
I’m buying a secret Santa present for someone at work - they are learning to play the guitar and I am wondering what would be (if any) a good ‘accessory’ for a guitar player. Present around the £10 mark. Thanks in advance. |
| Forum Thread | Self-publishing on Amazon. at 14:11 20 Nov 2023
During lockdown I started working on a novel and at the start of this year I completed it - yey, go me. I’m under no illusions that it’s a great piece of literature but it seems a waste not to try and do anything with it. I’ve sent it to a few literary agents but unfortunately they didn’t like. So now I’m thinking of self-publishing on Amazon. Just wondered if anyone has self-published on here and what’s the best route to actually selling a few electronic copies? Thanks in advance. |
